So two sticks are reporting errors.
The #HardenedBSD 15-STABLE build server is experiencing memory issues.
This is the info from `dmidecode` for the sticks installed. They're 16GB ECC DDR3. If anyone can donate, please get in touch.
If you need more info, please also get in touch.

#HardenedBSD 15-STABLE and 16-CURRENT OS updates have been published. These cover the #FreeBSD security advisories announced earlier this week.
We have provided two workarounds in this email:
https://groups.google.com/a/hardenedbsd.org/g/users/c/K6TXKOo71OU/m/HEAKJXm_AAAJ
We are testing two candidate patches to address this issue. The first commit caches the new DNSSEC key. The second key switches to the new key.
Initial hand-testing seems to work.
HEADS UP to #HardenedBSD `hbsd-update(8)` users: The #DNSSEC KSK key rollover impacts `hbsd-update`: https://groups.google.com/a/hardenedbsd.org/g/users/c/K6TXKOo71OU
We will keep everyone informed. We also noticed we hit the send button too soon and forgot to update the Subject line. Apologies on that.
I have uploaded new #Radicle bootstrap archives for #HardenedBSD src and ports:
ports: https://hardenedbsd.org/~shawn/radicle/archives/ports.2026-10-07.tar.xz
src: https://hardenedbsd.org/~shawn/radicle/archives/src.2026-10-07.tar.xz

The #HardenedBSD DNS TXT records have now been manually updated.
The API keys have been rotated and with new ACLs.
I might need to change how we're calling the Cloudflare APIs. The script I wrote that updates the DNS entries was written a decade or so ago.
In auditing the #HardenedBSD update artifacts, I just noticed the DNS TXT entry did not update.
I will now work on figuring out why. I suspect it might be an ACL problem with Cloudflare DNS API.
I'll manually update the DNS entries for now.

The #HardenedBSD August / September 2026 Status Report is out!
This status report also discusses the recent #Radicle security advisory and its impact on HardenedBSD.
The #HardenedBSD development infrastructure is undergoing maintenance. Access to our installation media and our package repositories will be intermittently unavailable.
We've now successfully migrated our primary primary nginx server from #bhyve to a regular jail.
Next up is our #Radicle VM, migratine that from a bhyve VM to a jail.
This one will take longer to perform since there's a lot of data to migrate.
I have uploaded new #Radicle storage exports of the #HardenedBSD src and ports repositories:
https://hardenedbsd.org/~shawn/radicle/archives/
src: https://hardenedbsd.org/~shawn/radicle/archives/2026-09-08_src.tar.xz
ports: https://hardenedbsd.org/~shawn/radicle/archives/2026-09-08_ports.tar.xz
Today, I'm thankful for @emeraldonion for providing a #HardenedBSD mirror.
Today, on my lunch break, I'm setting up the server to mirror the HardenedBSD #Radicle repositories.
Announcement to come soon.

Update the hardening(4) manual page
If writing mandoc is your thing, and you would like to contribute to HardenedBSD, please submit us a patch over #Radicle.
If you're unfamiliar with Radicle, I can help step you through the initial process of getting started (on a HardenedBSD system, of course.) Getting familiarized with their User Guide is a good first step: https://radicle.dev/guides/user
#HardenedBSD is announcing a call for donations of enterprise-grade drives: https://groups.google.com/a/hardenedbsd.org/g/users/c/qHref5RxG4E/m/LacY475rCwAJ
Please reach out to @lattera here on the Fediverse or via email (`shawn.webb@hardenedbsd.org`) if you're able to donate.
The #HardenedBSD June / July 2026 Status Report is out!
https://hardenedbsd.org/article/shawn-webb/2026-07-31/hardenedbsd-june-july-2026-status-report
Today is #FreeBSD Security Advisory day. I will cherry-pick the fixes into the relevant #HardenedBSD quarterly branches today.
I will probably kick off new builds either tomorrow (Thursday) or Saturday.
HEADS UP: The #HardenedBSD ports tree has been force pushed. This has ramifications for those who use our ports git repository:
https://groups.google.com/a/hardenedbsd.org/g/users/c/o4Fs_RhND5o
Official update on the #HardenedBSD 2026Q3 builds is out: https://groups.google.com/a/hardenedbsd.org/g/users/c/lJOnzLWfVGI/m/-d1pOBipAwAJ
This includes a slight detour to talk about adjusting our release engineering process to take into account an interesting security feature built into #Radicle.
#HardenedBSD 16-CURRENT 2026Q3 installer images and OS update published.
I am going to wait a little bit to let my body recover to do the Cross-DSO CFI and Pledge feature branches. I'll work on those next week. I'll make sure to base them on around the same time as the last update to our primary development branch (aka, 16-CURRENT) hardened/current/master.
Security-oriented derivative of FreeBSD. Primary goal is a clean-room reimplementation of the grsecurity patchset for the BSD community.
