Composer install puts the plugin in a directory called "wordpress" #945
The composer package name is auth0/wordpress, which is logical but it means you end up with a directory called "wordpress" in the plugins directory containing this plugin.
I know it's a pain but ideally this package would have auth0 somewhere in the name as well as the namespace. I can work around it for now I think so not an urgent one but worth flagging.
Reproduction
Follow composer install steps in the readme in this repo
Actually looks like the work around I was going to use won't work because this package doesn't require composer/installers: ^1 || ^2, which it should do as it's using wordpress-plugin for the type.
Oh, just realized this is quite an old issue. Anyway... For others that may be searching for this.
As long as you have composer/installers the workaround works fine. The composer/installers lets you pin individual packages in installer-paths, and the first matching rule wins. So just add the auth0/wordpress in your installer paths and you can name the folder whatever.
My example is for a bedrock setup and installs the plugin in plugins/auth0-v6
