Docker Desktop quits after clicking on multi-container app #12567

Closed

Description

@MichaelRushton
  • I have tried with the latest version of Docker Desktop
  • I have tried disabling enabled experimental features
  • I have uploaded Diagnostics
  • Diagnostics ID: A2E22C1F-0F66-4C8E-9287-B040376E26D8/20220219111936

Actual behavior

Clicking on a multi-container app quits Docker Desktop.
(Clicking on an individual container after expanding the multi-container app works as expected.)

Expected behavior

Clicking on a multi-container app shouldn't quit Docker Desktop.

Information

  • Windows Version: 11 Home 21H2
  • Docker Desktop Version: 4.5.1 (74721)
  • WSL2 or Hyper-V backend? WSL2
  • Are you running inside a virtualized Windows e.g. on a cloud server or a VM: No

    @TimofeyBiryukov

    Same here. Also win 11 latest update, Docker Desktop 4.5.1 (74721).
    I'm clicking on a compose, and docker desktop exits.

    @joeyberkovitz

    Same for me - Windows 10 - 21H1, Docker 4.5.1

    @pstoragithub

    Same problem also. Docker Desktop version : 4.5.1 (74721) on Windows 10 (latest updates)

    @Temepest74

    Any updates? The problem is persisting

    I have the same issue also. Curiously enough, if you just click the arrow next to the multi-container app, it will expand the list no problem and you can view each container. Just not the whole thing all at once.

    This has already been tackled internally, and will be fixed in the next Docker Desktop release. In the meantime here is a link to an internal build where this is fixed.

    @markymark501998

    @laurazard Thanks! I ended up using the VS Code Docker extension and that has been working great so far for my usage.

    We have released Docker Desktop 4.6.0, with a fix for this issue, see https://docs.docker.com/desktop/windows/release-notes/
