THE WRITER: Building A Dream From Nothing

By Daisy Devine

Once you enter the rabbit-hole and emerge into a foreign land, you have two choices. The first, is to fear the unknown before you, letting it immobilize you with doubt. The second, is to anxiously embark on a journey you are completely unprepared for, even with the knowledge that you may be eaten alive. If you choose the latter, odds are that you’ll learn things about yourself that you never thought possible, and discover how unstoppable you really are. Well, at least that was my experience when After Hour Diaries was born in early 2015.

In the year following my first local show in Spokane, I befriended countless musicians, earned the respect of many Music lovers, and developed confidence and pride as I created then brought my vision to life. I found a routine and creative process that worked for me, and equally important, wrote reviews that my growing audience connected with- all without compromising my values or slandering anyone.

Music journalism became my greatest passion, a constant addiction- at which point I KNEW there was no other career for me. I am blessed enough to have a lot of supporters in the Northwest, and a team dedicated to the success and expansion of After Hour Diaries.

After taking a few years to write a book, heal and grow as a person, artist, and musician I am proud to say I’ve finally decided to return to my music journalism to resume my roll in supporting the next round of musical enchanters. Every one of you are invited along and I can’t wait to see you out there!
