Hug Bug is a potion Bin Bot creature in Bin Weevils obtained through the Bin Bot Maker outside Lab's Lab, by mixing sets of special potion combinations together.
Created by Lab at his laboratory, these creatures are gentle, soft, and exceptionally strong, making their grasp nearly inescapable. Once ensnared by one, it proves quite difficult to free oneself from their grip. Hug Bug enjoys soft pillows and inflatable castles, while having an aversion to darkness!
Bot insight[]
The initial release of this Bin Bot occurred during the launch of Series 1 in September 2012. However, it was not released in-game until the launch of the Bin Bot Maker and its potion machines, that crafts its species. This particular Series 1 Bin Bot can be obtainable by special potion combinations together, and waiting a specific period for your potion to craft it.
The Bin Bot Maker features three stations dedicated to the creation of daily special combination potions, situated also at Lab's Lab, adjacent to Lab's Laboratory. Upon completing your potion combinations, you may select a waiting period. The Bin Bot Maker operates by blending various potions together. A longer waiting time increases the likelihood of acquiring a rare Bin Bot. Bin Tycoons enjoy the advantage of producing a greater number of potions, which allows for the creation of rarer Bin Bots.
Once a potion is ready, if you have successfully crafted Hug Bug through your potions, the Bin Bot you have crafted will be unveiled along with interesting trivia. Subsequently, the Bin Bot is dispatched to the Bin Bots Portal for your collection.

- Hug Bug belongs to the Series 1 collection of Bin Bots, which was introduced in September 2012. Although, it was officially released about a year later, because its species are potion based. It was among the first of Series 1 species to be crafted from the Bin Bot Maker, in August 2013.
- A real life toy figure of Hug Bug could be purchased and collected. A promotional campaign included a hidden Golden Bin Bot within blind bags available at major UK retailers, leading to the emergence of several "Mulch Millionaire" winners. In addition to receiving 1,000,000 Mulch, these winners enjoyed a week of being supersized in-game.
- Hug Bug was invented by Lab, in his Bin Bot Maker.
- It can be crafted using the potion combination Purple (BB-3) + Orange (BB-2) + Purple (BB-3) for 24 hours.
- It lives in the Bin Bot Portal, inside a weevil's nest hall.
- The collectible toy figure for this Bin Bot unlocked Bin Bot Trophy virtual good, which collectors could display in their nest rooms. There were normal, bronze, silver, and gold variations.
