CHI is located on the ancestral and current day lands and waters of the Anishinaabeg, Ininiwak, Anisininewuk, Dakota Oyate and Denesuline, and on the National Homeland of the Red River Métis. In northern Manitoba, we acknowledge the ancestral lands of the Inuit and gratefully acknowledge that our water is sourced from Shoal Lake 40 First Nation.
Through our work, we strongly support the principles of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and seek to mitigate long-standing effects of systemic racism and white privilege in health care. As an organization, we welcome walking alongside First Nations, Métis and Inuit partners and rights-holders in the journey towards reconciliation and healing.
