Audiences:

Family & Friends

The primary audience I write for are my immediate family and friends. Certain posts will be locked and available only to the handful who have the password.

Other people who know me

I am also keen to communicate with and get feedback from people who already know me, and have some measure of my personality, sense of humour, core values, etc, who I also trust have some kind of vested interest in my wellbeing. I trust these people to give me good feedback that is weighed against what is already known about me, and given in a way that is intended to help me be a better person, not just tear me down.

Strangers people who are Queer, Transgender, Pagan/Pagan-Christian, etc.

I have a special reserve of patience and investment in the unknown members of the various marginalised groups I belong to. There’s a good chance that we share some of our core personal or cultural values, or key experiences, or general attitudes and ambitions, so hopefully there is some common understanding. I value interactions with these people because they will not always give me the benefit of the doubt, and require me to be questioned and examine myself a little more deeply than usual.

General public

Some of my posts will be public, and open to be found by any random browser on the internet. I am less interested in the opinions of complete strangers who I have nothing in common with, but that’s not to say that I don’t care about them completely. You’re welcome here unless/until you prove yourself unfriendly. That’s not necessarily a call to tone-police or capitulate to political correctness or respectability politics.

It is, however, me stating that even if I post something that is in “the public domain” I assert my rights to my own comfort and safety, and that includes editing/deleting/locking posts that attract unwanted attention, deleting/disabling comments, and blocking individuals who make me feel uncomfortable or unsafe in ways I can’t cope with in a healthy way.

Content:

This blog is About Me. A lot of what I will write will simply be stories from/about my life, and reflections on those stories. The point of such a blog is to let people get to know me better. Sometimes I will write posts that read more like reviews or essays or commentaries or philosophical meanderings, and a few may even turn out to be How-To-ish. These are not the main content of the blog, they are incidental, and serve more to give insight into how I live than to serve anyone else’s needs for information.

Keep this in mind if you decide to subscribe or follow me.
