Job Builds are the deliberate combination of Jobs in order to achieve the best synergistic effect.
History[]
When Infinite Dendrogram had just started, Masters had only evolved their Embryos to high rank at best, no Masters had become Superiors, and very few had achieved a Superior Job, so the focus for those wishing to get stronger was on creating the strongest job build, There was a great deal of discussion as to which job build was the strongest. The Guardian-Jaguarman job build, the Nobushi First Hit job build, the Sacrifice MP Specialization job build, etc… became popular during this period.
However, after the appearance of Superiors, who possessed out of standard strength beyond what any normal job build could accomplish and the increase of Masters who had achieved powerful Superior Jobs as well as the popularization of equipment that nullified the advantages of certain builds, discussion of job builds has declined. The current meta is to choose jobs with stats that match the combat role you desire, i.e. choosing AGI jobs for a vanguard or END jobs for a tank, or choosing jobs that are synergistic with your Embryo.
List of Job Builds[]
Guardian-Jaguarman Job Build[]
A job build theory that takes advantage of the Type: Guardner Embryo having a minion capacity of 0 to make the best possible use of the job skill Beast Heart Possession from the Jaguarman grouping. Normally, due to the low minion capacity of this grouping, the user would need to place multiple jobs with high minion capacity as sub jobs, leaving no space for jobs with battle skills. This job build was once seen as the strongest in Infinite Dendrogram with many people coveting the Superior Job of this grouping, but after Behemoth took the King of Beasts job and became the Physical Apex, interest in this build died down.
Gem Production & Spam Theory[]
A job build theory based on storing Gems with powerful magic ahead of time and using them in battle along with the users' own magic for a barrage of powerful spells not constrained by MP or cooldown. This build enjoyed some popularity at the beginning of Infinite Dendrogram but after AGI builds with subsonic speeds became commonplace, users of this build began to be killed before they could even use their Gems, leading the build to fall into disuse. Chelsea previously uses a variation of this build during her time at Granvaloa.
Nobushi First Hit Theory[]
A job build theory based around the job skills of the Nobushi grouping, which has skills that increase the damage dealt on opponents for the first attack. Some time after the increase of Masters, items like Lifesaving Brooches became common, and so it became extremely difficult to kill enemy Masters in one blow, so the build fell into disuse. There are still some Masters, most notably Rosa who still use the build, reasoning that being able to crush the Brooch in one hit is fine.
Sacrifice MP Specialization Theory[]
A job build theory based around the low rank Sacrifice job, which has abnormally high MP stats (as high as 20,000 for a tian at level 50, which is twice as high as most high rank caster jobs) for a low rank job.
By placing this as a sub job and with a caster job as the main job, the number of spells that can be cast will increase. When the Sacrifice job is set as the main job, all stats other than MP will become abnormally low and taking any combat actions will be forbidden. This made it extremely difficult to level this job, leading it to be used as a MP tank for ritual magic. Masters got around this drawback by levelling the job using Guardner Embryos or tamed monsters or even shared experience from party members.
However, when caster type Superior jobs, which often boast MP stats in the hundreds of thousands became available, this build's popularity fell somewhat. It is still common for many Masters with MP focused main jobs to take Sacrifice as a sub job.
Alchemy Storage - Legendary Rush Job Build Theory[]
A unique job build theory designed by Zeta for Logan Goddhart. This build is based around jobs from the alchemist and summoner groupings, as well Logan's Embryo and Superior Job.
By using Logan's Embryo, Rumpelstiltskin, to increase the success rate of the alchemist job skill Mithril Alchemy, Logan can transform silver into mithril with a 100% success rate, creating huge quantities of mithril that he can then sacrifice to gain huge amounts of points with which to use his Hell General skills. By combining this with the Summoner job skill, Multiple Simultaneous Summoning, which allows for the summoning of the same monster multiple times at once, Logan can summon hundreds or even thousands of the Legendary devil, Giganite. Also, by using the high rank job, High Puppeteer's rare skill, Alias, Logan can create a puppet and lend it his job skills to fight on the frontlines on his behalf, nullifying the weakness of Logan's low stats.
Furthermore, by using the ultimate skill of the high rank job, High Alchemist, Logan could potentially create Mythical metals, allowing for the summoning of multiple Mythical devils, Zero Exceed. However, Zeta has not yet told Logan about this application of the theory.
Bare Hand Job Build[]
A job build theory based on taking jobs with skills that had the demerit of only activating when the user was barehanded and combining them. This job was once considered to be a contender for the strongest job build, but jobs with skills like these tend to have low stats, making strengthening them not worth the effort, as just using a weapon normally will give better results. Elijah uses this build.
Trivia[]
- Most level-capped Masters who chose Pyromancer as their Main Job usually put the Sacrifice job and jobs from the Gem Meister grouping as their sub jobs.
