Fan Works Convention

How in the heck am I just learning about the FanWorks Convention?! It's less than an hour from where I live! https://fanworkscon.com/
Too bad I can't go because they're SOLD OUT! I signed up for their email list; maybe they'll keep the same location next year? IDEK.
To anyone who can help - where can I find fannish chats? They have some programming about new chat programs that I'm sure I could learn to use. I love chatting about fandom! I'm not a published author (3 mini stories, none on AO3 because they're *actually* not very good.) I want to talk about stories, characters, MCU, etc., etc.!
If you want to chat one-on-one, the easiest for me is Google chat bc I can access it through Adium (on Mac.) PMs or emails are welcome! [email protected]
