They Fight Crime!
I'd forgotten how much I love https://theyfightcrime.org.

Ages ago, there was a fic challenge for it (or a fic challenge for something else, with bonus points for using a theyfightcrime prompt); I can't find it now. It was defunct by the time I saw it - months after its initial deadline, with a sparse handful of comments and no fic entries.
If you do dozens of TFC entries, you'll start to notice patterns and repeated elements. (Sometimes if you do just a few of them.) And some make no sense, even from the gonzo-weirdness perspective they have. But they're so quick and simple that it's easy to skip past those and get new ones and think, "hmmm, could this be an AU for my blorbos?"
Someday I want to write a few stories using TFC prompts. Maybe original fic, maybe fanfic where I only include the prompt in the notes at the end.
I want a TFC-fest where people share TFC prompts and write fics for them. I don't think it's going to happen because I have zero free time and I barely manage to participate in the existing fests that I really like.

I also loved skimming "Text From Last Night" for prompts, and always wished that someone could've run a fest based on that as well.
