Hefezopf Bunnies

Happy Easter!

I baked Hefezopf bunnies yesterday and thought I could post a small how-to :). Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of the individual steps, so my description will have to do.

(A Hefezopf is a yeast bun/bread, usually braided)

(I guess since I don't really have the opportunity to do bento any more, this will turn into a general cooking/baking/food blog ...)

Today I made anpan again since I had some anko left from last time. I decided to make them a bit different, and just because I took photos of them.

One thing that I find a bit strange about anko is its texture - it's rather mealy, and when you get that big piece of anko in the middle of the anpan ... that's something I need to get accustomed to. Also, I wanted to have the anpan in the right size for bento (a normal one is way too big). So I made anpan rolls by rolling out the dough and spreading the anko on it, then cutting the dough into stripes I rolled up.

And I STILL have anko left ... So I see some dorayaki in the near future ^^.
