About the challenge
There are four tracks for teams to choose from:
- General Track: Build anything you want!
- Healthcare & Wellness: Explore how technology can improve well-being and the health experience for individuals or communities. Consider how people discover, track, maintain, or regain health, and where current tools fall short. Imagine better support through improved access, clearer understanding, stronger motivation, or better care.
- FinTech & Financial Literacy: Create solutions that help people make smarter financial decisions with confidence and transparency. Look for ways to simplify money management, expand access to financial services, strengthen budgeting and saving habits, and explain credit, taxes, and investing. The goal is to reduce stress, close knowledge gaps, and build long-term financial health through better technology, clearer education, and more equitable experiences.
- Productivity & Automation: Investigate how technology can remove friction in the way individuals and teams work so they can focus on what matters. Examine how tasks are prioritized, executed, and tracked, and identify where workflows still feel manual, distracting, or overwhelming. Eliminate unnecessary effort and streamline action to help users be more effective with less strain.
Get started
Get started by choosing one of the four tracks and reviewing the Hackathon Tracks Document with a Terpmail account. Form a team, define the user and the problem, and agree on a simple scope you can finish in one day. Set up a shared repository, outline build and run steps, and decide how you will demo the prototype. Draft a short plan for the demo video and screenshots so you can capture them as you build. Keep a checklist for submission on Devpost that includes the title, description, chosen track, team members, and links. If you have questions, reach out to the organizers through Terpmail or comment in the tracks document.
Requirements
What to Build
Build a working prototype that clearly fits within one of the four hackathon tracks. Focus on solving a real problem that users face and show how your idea improves their experience. Your project should demonstrate both creativity and technical strength while staying simple enough to complete in one day. Highlight the main features and explain how each part supports your goal. Use visuals, clear structure, and practical functionality to make it easy for others to understand and test. The best projects will show thoughtful design, smooth interaction, and a clear connection to the chosen track’s theme.
What to Submit
Submit your project on Devpost with the project title, description, and chosen track. Include a demo video, screenshots, and a link to your repository with build and run instructions. Add the names of all team members and their roles. Shortlisted teams will then present their projects live during the final judging round.

Judging Criteria
-
Time-Constrained Development
Judges will assess how effectively your team utilizes the hackathon’s limited time to build a functional solution from scratch. Only projects fully developed within the official hackathon period will be considered for the finalist round. -
Functionality
Judges will evaluate whether the project works as intended and delivers the core features promised by the team. Solutions should function reliably and meet the requirements of the chosen track. -
Innovation/Creativity
This criterion measures how novel and original your idea and approach are. Teams are encouraged to think outside the box and offer solutions that introduce new perspectives, solve emerging problems, or apply technology in unique ways. -
Usability
Projects will be assessed for how easy and intuitive they are to use. Judges will consider the overall user experience, clarity of design, and accessibility.
