Animation and VFX

A collection of my finished animation pieces in reverse chronological order for ease.

Transformers Prime Galvatron’s Revenge Opening Video Effects (May 2016)
After being given the animation in layers, I was asked to make a portal for the robots to drive into. I took 2-3 weeks in After Effects adding this to the talented Jonathan Mason’s animation, who even rendered me out the alphas of the characters to make a cleaner version.

Most of the effect is variations of fractal noise and particle layers, but there is also masking and polar coordinates thrown in there.

3D Animation Practice (August 2015)
3 different animation tests I did in Blender to demonstrate my 3D skills. Equestria Girls models are made by CreatorofPony, and Sintel Lite is made by Ben Dansie.

Suffering in Silence (June 2014)
Graduation film done in TV Paint, Maya, and After Effects, edited together in Final Cut Pro. A brief glimpse into how a normal person can be suffering internally, in this case, with temporal lobe epilepsy.

The Ambiguous Mongoose (Group project, Jan 2014)
Group project done with a partner in TV Paint, edited in FCP. A documentary of sorts about a cryptozoological talking mongoose from the Isle of Man named Gef.

Natural Selection (May 2013)
Minor project (practice for grad film) done in TV Paint and edited in FCP. A film representing how the ending of the Beatrix Potter book “Squirrel Nutkin” scared me a lot as a kid.

GIS Alicorn (April 2013)
Guided independant study project, where I explored cel-shading in Maya. Alicorn made in Maya, Background and texturing made in TV Paint, put together in After Effects.

Clocks (Group project, Dec 2012)
Group project with 3 other students. Cut-out animation shot with Dragon. We were given 2 weeks to shoot this, so were under a lot of pressure. It was an adaptation of “The Tell-tale Heart” by Edgar Allan Poe.

Wembley Layout with Bee Girl (Dec 2012)
Made in Illustrator, and put together in After Effects. I designed the background based on an area near where I was staying (near Wembley Stadium station) and then designed the Bee girl to go in.

Soundscape Project (Dec 2012)
We were given a piece of music and told to put animation to it. I decided to make a stop-motion piece with puppets. Shot with iStopMotion.

Ghost (Dec 2012)
Character made in Maya. I designed it with the inspiration of the wisps in Sonic colours, as our task was to make a simple 3D character and animate it.
