Christine Ryan-Else, a 66-year old retiree from Chesterfield in Derbyshire, won £3,116 on the free online lottery, Pick My Postcode!

Christine first joined Pick My Postcode in 2017, after seeing it featured on Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert. And finally after years of checking daily and building her bonus through surveys, her postcode was picked on the Main draw, winning her an unbelievable £3,116, completely for free.
When asked how it felt to win, Christine said: “I am still in shock as I never thought it would be me. What a great surprise it was and it came the day after my 66th birthday. What a great present. I have now received my winnings and still cannot believe it.”
Christine also said “It means a lot to me, especially as it is such a big amount. I still cannot believe it.” This is her first win on Pick My Postcode. “I have always checked it everyday from the start of joining.” Speaking on building her large bonus over the years of checking she said, “some of the surveys are really good to do and others are a bit of a bind as they say they last for 15 mins and usually it takes much longer, but I have persevered and that is why I had a good bonus.”
When asked how she planned to spend the winnings, Christine said: “I did think maybe I could spend it on a small holiday but then I thought more practical and I may buy some new worktops for the kitchen, at least then everyday I look at them it will remind me of the win.”
She continued on to say: “I originally did think that it cannot be real, especially when the bonus mounts up. Even my husband didn’t believe it, every time I said I’m just doing a survey he would say you wont win anything. I did think they won’t pay out that much, but I am living proof that it can happen to you. Just keep on doing the surveys and mounting up the money and one day soon it could be your postcode.”
The site offers multiple opportunities for your postcode to be picked every single day. Pick My Postcode has 7,477 active members in Derbyshire and since 2011, the residents have won a total of £66,868.44.

Why so few postcodes in the stackpot this morning?
Marie
in 20 minutes
It varies depending on how many claims there have been on the previous draws. Three postcodes get randomly drawn for the Stackpot each time a draw takes place. If you see more than three postcodes, this means that not all of the stackpots have been claimed from the previous draws. The number of unclaimed ones roll over and three more are added if this happens. This means that the number of stackpots can fluctuate depending on how many claims there have been. In this case, there were more claims on the previous draw, so less rolled over.

I have a question about these postcode draws.
Does the system randomly pick postcodes that have been registered, or does it pick from ALL UK postcodes, even if they don't have a registered user against them?
Marie
in 24 minutes
It is only registered postcodes that can be winners. From the Rules: "Only postcodes that are registered by players will be drawn. So, there is always at least one eligible winner – there's no danger of us choosing a postcode where nobody can win!"

Its the registered player that is picked. With there postcode they have registered showing as the winning postcode

Wintergreen: Minty, cooling flavor; primarily used for teas, candies, and flavoring medicinal oils.
A friendly one eyed electrician I knew who rewired our house absolutely reeked of it, he said it was good for his chest, but its smell really lingered, so much that mum went out shopping for the day & left me to help him. We had all the windows open in the evening.

Of course, it would be preferable for members to post similar comments in one thread as it just means that you then don't see multiple identical responses from us and other comments are not pushed down so much. However, we know that not everybody scrolls down far enough to check if there is an existing thread on the same subject and we do always appreciate things like this being bought to our attention. Our answer is just copied & pasted, so it's not a big job for us to reply to each post.

FORGIVE CAPS PMP.
IT IS ALWAYS INTERESTING WATCHING FORUM TOPICS DEVELOP.
SOME USERS RUN OUT OF TIME TO SCOUR MANY THREADS/COMMENTS & POST QUICK UPDATES, WHILE OTHERS CHOOSE TO START A NEW THREAD FOR ‘POEMS’ INSTEAD OF ADDING TO THE ORIGINAL, LIKE THE STACKPOT DRAW PAGE REGARDING SOMEONE BEING UNINSPIRED COLLECTING 3P 😉
MISTAKES HAPPEN TO BOTH NEW/SEASONED USERS, I’M SURE NO ONE INTENTIONALLY WANTS TO MAKE EXTRA WORK FOR ADMIN.
…but it adds to the Admin work time, reading through dozens of identical comments and having to post dozens of responses. It would take an individual 2 seconds to glance at the top comments and instantly know it’s already been reported?
I don’t feel it’s “patronising “ to remind people how comments pages work? You may know but still choose not to read, others clearly don’t know?
ClockworkDolly

Goodness me, the commenters above, how patronising. Yes, we know how chat pages work thanks, but some of us have not got the time to scroll through reams of comments and besides, what harm is there in letting Admin know if you’ve had problems. You don’t have to scroll through all the replies either, but you choose to!

FORGIVE CAPS PMP.
IMAGINE IF MANY USERS LACK THE TIME TO READ THROUGH ALL COMMENTS BEFORE POSTING, OR MIGHT NOT EVEN READ THE COMMENTS AS SOME DO, INSTEAD JUST DROPPING A QUICK UPDATE FOR THE ADMINS TO PICK UP 🤔
I’VE NOTICED NEWER COMMENTERS GET CALLED OUT FOR STARTING NEW THREADS, BUT WHEN SEASONED COMMENTERS DO THE EXACT SAME THING THEY ARE GIVEN MORE GRACE ⚖️
REMEMBER CHRIS’S RECENT POST ASKING TO BE GENTLE WITH NEW MEMBERS?

I think many people assume they’re the only one having difficulties and never think to read the comments. They don’t even consider the likelihood that many other people have already asked and been answered.
I see this on other forums regularly. It just seems to be a lack of awareness of how chat pages work.
I suppose there are many hundreds of members who do check the comments, realise what the problem is and don’t comment or swamp admin with emails!😊

An idea to help Rachel Reeves balance the books. A fixed penalty notice to be issued to anyone displaying the Union flag upside down, to be doubled if it's during a 'patriotic' rally. Fifty quid a time and she'd be rolling in it, pay off the National Debt by Christmas!
What is it about the Far Right that makes them love the flag so much that they don't even know which way is up? You don't see this in Germany, the Netherlands, Poland or Ukraine, all of whose people seem to be able to fly their flags correctly. Even the MAGA crowd seems to cope.
Redz3112
FORGIVE CAPS PMP.
BEING DEROGATORY ABOUT A HUGE GROUP OF PEOPLE DOESN'T BALANCE THE BOOKS. I'M NO APOLOGIST FOR RACHEL REEVES, BUT IF YOU COULD HAVE DONE THE JOB BETTER - MAYBE IT'S EASIER DONE FROM THE SIDELINES?
REGARDING THE MAGA CROWD, THEY ACTUALLY DID INVERT THE STARS & STRIPES DELIBERATELY AS A SYMBOL OF DISTRESS TO THEIR PREVIOUS GOVERNMENT NOT LOOKING AFTER THEM - IT WAS A PROTEST, NOT A MISTAKE.
IT’S EASY TO POINT FINGERS FROM THE OUTSIDE, BUT SWEEPING GENERALISATIONS JUST INSULT PEOPLE UNNECESSARILY.

My understanding is that the german flag is only displayed as a banner (vertically) on public buildings. Otherwise gold at the top would mean that the flag was upside down.
Happy to be corrected 😇
Edit : Thanks for the confirmation DSM and help me!

Lol63: the German flag has horizontal stripes: black at the top then red then yellow at the bottom, so you can tell if it's upside down. The Belgian flag though, with vertical stripes, is the same upside down, as are many others including Switzerland, Italy, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Japan, Austria, Bahamas &c. &c. Presumably they plan never to be in distress.
Edit: You beat me to it DSM.

@Beth8it, Barrie is correct the Union flag is only called the Union Jack when it's flown on a Jackstaff at the front of a ship, usually a naval ship.

Think you can, Barrie - it’s a distress signal as Myloguinness says.
Flags were originally rallying points for armies in the confusion of battle, especially where the conscripted yokels with their pitchforks couldn’t read - a white horse, black bear etc was easy for them to see where their leader was. Family crests, with diagonals, crosses etc became adapted into national flags. The South African one has black for its people, yellow for its sun, green for its verdant regions and red for the blood spilt by its people in the many battles fought there.
Barrie

My flag is of England not the union & when working I heard a bloke of Jamaican decent & a bloke of Asian descent saying during a football tournament "We don't fly our St. George's flag often enough in this country.
BTW you cannot fly the union JACK upside down but you can the union flag.

There should be nothing wrong with anybody choosing to fly their flag as a sign of pride and respect for their country. Sadly in some cases, it is used as a political statement or some sort of symbolism, which can then cause issues. Maybe those people do that because they don't feel heard, but I assume it can also feel intimidating to those who feel it is aimed at them.

The flag has been appropriated by the 'far right'. The 'far right' is a mixture of Christian nationalists, anti-immigration, anti-Islam, and populist nationalist movements. I was pretty disgusted to see our flag upside down on the US state visit by our King, but that’s nothing to finding the Naval team I met at Plymouth Naval Base, when I donated a lifebelt from the old HMS Vanguard battleship to the nuclear sub Vanguard. They wanted a promo shot for the Navy Daze magazine, and it was only when I said, ‘Hang on a minute, you’ve got the flag upside down.’ Nobody had noticed, and the Captain, a lovely guy, said very quietly, ‘Change that flag. NOW.’ The chap who had set it up leaped into action. Nothing more was said - while I was there. But after? How would you feel, having someone who is not only a civilian but a woman, picking up a core fact that they have drummed into them on enlisting, and none of the 6 guys had noticed - including the Captain. 🫣

A lot of national flags are fairly simple to check that they are the right way up but the Union flag is difficult as even the wrong way (narrow white diagonal on top) looks similar to the right way (broad white diagonal on top)

I took part in a trial into properties of turmeric. The group were divided into a control group who had a dummy pill; second group took a turmeric pill and third group took powdered turmeric. I was in the powdered turmeric group which had to eat a spoonful every other day in any way we chose. On my first day I found out that I don't like turmeric but as I had signed up for the trial I had to keep going. I tried it in every way on the suggestion sheetbut nothing improved it. Granddaughter found it highly amusing to watch me trying to swallow the substance. I got through to the end of the trial and celebrated when I took the final dose.

Chilli for me too, it seems to be getting into so many foods now especially vegetarian meals that it's quite difficult to avoid it and it reduces my choice of what I can eat.

Cardamom pods. Don't mind the flavouring but biting into a whole one is the stuff of nightmares.
@Enver - I bought a 1kg bag of crystallised ginger not long ago 😋

I like most spices but one thing I don't like is Tarragon, which I suppose is a herb rather than a spice. Horrible taste and often found in chicken dishes which is a bit unfortunate as chicken is the only meat I eat.

Red🔥Hot chillies🌶🌶🌶 or powder. Never rub your eyes or pee holding it till you've washed your hands thoroughly several times after using 🌶🌶🌶. I learnt that the hard way.
Ginger nuts are tasteless to me as I like to eat lumps of crystallised ginger. 🍪🍪

Turmeric, I tried using it because I kept reading about it's medicinal properties but it didn't agree with me at all, I don't like the smell or taste of curries and I guess that's why

This is going to cause some controversy considering the previous question, but ginger (and I'm not talking about Ms Halliwell-Horner.)
If I'm looking for one of those "Innocent" smoothies to complete a meal deal, I have to be very careful to avoid any that might have ginger in. Which seem to be becoming increasingly popular, but I can't stand it.

I do think it would be good to put a list of questions on here that people might want the answer to. If so one of the questions I'd have on there would be that one "Is there a FAQ page?"

Just imagine if there was a FAQ page where people could go to find things out?

@Admin Marie, what you write makes things clearer than the faq do.

To clarify, it is the number of unclaimed postcodes that roll over, not the postcodes themselves.

@Derek.IDC. dead on 9am or 9pm, the lowest postcode disappears as the changeover starts. That may have given you the impression of 4 being added if you had been checking just then.

Agree with Alley1940 about the same unclaimed postcodes rolling over, but thinking about it, when the National lottery does rollovers it's different numbers.
Plus I'm sure just recently 4 PCs have been added instead of 3.

@ Marie - The above makes it sound like the same unclaimed postcodes are rolled over and not replaced by newly drawn ones. Just saying.

Three postcodes get randomly drawn for the Stackpot each time a draw takes place. If you see more than three postcodes, this means that not all of the stackpots have been claimed from the previous draws. The unclaimed ones roll over and three more are added if this happens. This means that the number of stackpots can fluctuate depending on how many claims there have been.

It's normal, the unclaimed postcodes on Stackpot are changed & 2 or 3 more added every time. I've once seen it down to 1, & as high as about 35 postcodes.

Had a strange dream last night, dreamt I went to the building I lived in in Dublin, but I had the key to & all my furniture was in a smaller bedsit I'd never visited more than twice, & I didn't know who had done it. . Any idea what it means?

A fascinating analysis. I'm not dowsizing or particularly cramped, current lack of storage space perhaps, experienced confusion & quiet acceptance in the dream maybe, with a thought to possibly check who was in my old bedsit on the floor above.
A wendyhouse, no such luxury , maybe something a bit more unusual, like a garden shed where there is hardly room to move about.
I think it means politicians don't care what happens to us.

Dreams of this nature are incredibly common and typically serve as symbolic reflections of your subconscious processing life changes or revisiting past emotions. Your dream blends specific memories with fragmented details, presenting a fascinating psychological puzzle.Dream Elements ExplainedThe Former Dublin Home: Returning to an old place usually means your brain is processing unresolved emotions or comparing a past version of yourself to your current life. It might indicate a desire to reconnect with the comfort or mindset of that specific era.The Smaller Bedsit: Cramped or altered living spaces in dreams often represent a feeling of being limited or constrained in some area of your life. It can point to a feeling of regression—like you've suddenly had to "downsize" your goals, responsibilities, or personal boundaries. The Familiar Furniture: Finding your belongings in this unfamiliar setting highlights a disconnect between what you possess (your internal traits, memories, or life experiences) and the environment you currently find yourself in.You Didn't Know Who Did It: This mystery element is classic. Because the change is unauthored by you, it symbolizes a lack of control or an unexpected transition in your waking life that you are trying to make sense of.The Symbolic MeaningIn dream psychology, a house often represents your mind, your "self," or your current life situation. Finding your belongings in an unfamiliar bedsit suggests you may be attempting to "fit" past habits, memories, or parts of your personality into a new, tighter, or perhaps less comfortable phase of life. It could mean you are carrying old baggage into a new, smaller space. It is also common to experience this kind of scenario as a manifestation of an "anxiety dream," where your brain works through feelings of vulnerability or the stress of navigating unexpected changes. If you'd like, let me know a little bit more so we can see how this might tie into your life:What emotions did you feel in the dream (e.g., confusion, relief, panic, or acceptance)? Are you currently navigating any major life transitions or feeling a bit "cramped" in your current routine?Do the items of furniture hold any specific sentimental value?

The fact you have the key suggests you have the answer to this, maybe you are feeling your world is becoming smaller though not down to you/out of your hands 🤔
