Roby (also known as Talking Roby and Roby Çelik) was a character from the Talking Friends series, first appearing in Talking Roby the Robot in October 2010. His last official appearance was in Talking Santa.
Appearance
Roby is a tall gold and silver robot; he has large golden eyes with small red eyelids. His ears are large, mechanical and round.
He has lanky proportions jointed by silver on his left arm and legs, and gold on his right arm. His torso is shaped similar to a pill, with a visible hatch on the front with five silver buttons.
In the app, his colour could be changed to silver with teal eyes, more resemblance of his inspiration, Çelik.
Personality
Roby is programmed to be friendly and good-tempered. He has multiple sides to his personality, depending on what is activated at the time. He is obsessed with music and noise and loves to blow his horn and play his piano.
However, he's always willing to put up a fight if he is in a bad mood.

Trivia
- Roby, along with Rex, do not appear in Talking Santa Meets Ginger or the Talking Friends Annual 2014, making them the first retired characters. Though Rex is mentioned in the latter through a word searching puzzle and appears in the game Jigty Jigsaw Puzzles. Rex also got a built-in ad in Talking Tom and Ben News, while Roby did not.
- In the app, Roby has a skin that is a silver colour which was added on March 9, 2011. The reason is because his design originates from a character called Çelik[3] who is created by a Turkish/Turkiyė company named Arçelik[4].
- This version had also appeared in Talking Santa, which was removed on November 18, 2011 along with its original version.
- This is likely also the reason his app was sometimes known as Talking Roby Çelik the Robot.
- This is also the possible reason for his disappearance in the series.
- Roby's original model was sourced from TurboSquid, where most of the 2010 character models were sourced.
- While his last official appearance in-person was in Talking Santa, he is briefly mentioned in Tom Loves Angela.[5]
