Communication Guidelines
The Communication Guidelines will serve as this website's Acceptable Use Policy. They are designed to foster a respectful environment and promote a supportive, inclusive community. This applies to public and private communications, email contacts, and comments made in the Untilted membership.
And heeeeeere they are:
1 . The following is strictly prohibited:
- Harassment (as defined by behaviors intended to disturb, upset, or intimidate individuals or groups)
- Violating the privacy of others including the author's. (This includes doxing, revealing private comments and other personally identifiable information without permission, using any personally identifiable name other than the author's preferred name in situations that may violate their privacy, digging up people's pasts, and the like). Sharing public social media accounts is fine.
- Impersonation of the author or anyone else (as defined by the act of pretending to be someone else, often with the intent to deceive or mislead others.)
- Ad hominem attacks (as defined by attacking the character or other attributes of any person)
- Making a comment that indirectly refers to a specific person or group of people without mentioning them by name in a way that is demeaning or offensive, regardless of who is the target and regardless of intent.
- Trolling (as defined by the act of deliberately provoking or upsetting others online, often for amusement or to elicit a reaction). This includes baiting.
- Spamming (as defined by the practice of sending unsolicited and often irrelevant messages)
- Advertising (promotional messages that consumers did not solicit or find relevant)
- Retaliation (as defined by the act of responding to an action, often perceived as harmful or unjust, with a counteraction)
- Profanity (as defined by language that is considered offensive, vulgar, or disrespectful, including swear words, curse words, or slurs that can express strong emotions such as anger, frustration, or surprise) in any and all forms, including foreign language profanity. Censored profanity is fine.
- Sexually explicit material (as defined by content that depicts sexual acts, nudity, or sexual behavior in a way that is intended to cause sexual arousal or is otherwise sexually provocative) in any and all forms. This includes non-explicit fetish material, "hornyposting", and otherwise similar content/statements.
- Suggestive comments that attempt to break the guidelines (statements or remarks that imply or hint at inappropriate, offensive, or otherwise unacceptable content). If you feel that your comment meant no harm, please provide a written explanation that explains your comment in the clearest way possible ASAP. It's one thing to be inside jokey and it's another to manipulate everyone into thinking that anyone who doesn't get your point must be wrong.
- Prejudice (an attitude or belief that is often negative and based on preconceived notions about a group of people) and discrimination (actions or behaviors that result from prejudice) OF ANY KIND (including slurs, implicit/benevolent discrimination, etc.)
- Discussing, promoting, disseminating, etc. any activity illegal under U.S. law (including any activity that violates any copyright law)
- Libel (making false and damaging statements about ANYONE in a written or published format)
- Slander (making false spoken statements about someone that damage their reputation)
- Negative comments which only serve to express or stir up hatred/ridicule/division
- Plagiarized comments, including comments generated by artificial intelligence
- Links to sites that violate any of the Guidelines and/or the Terms of Service.
2 . The following type of comments are allowed AS LONG AS THEY RELATE TO THE POST'S TOPIC AT HAND AND DO NOT VIOLATE ANY OF THE GUIDELINES:
- Religion and religious topics
- Any social/political issue such as poverty, inequality, climate change, etc. (Note: please do not make any comments that suggest that the author stands on any specific political issue unless they actually do. Never make assumptions)
- References to other fictional media
- Vent comments (but don't make it all about you)
- Any CLEAN internet meme
- (Constructive) Criticism of the Guidelines (comments deemed vague/inflammatory will be removed)
3 . Comments that are not relevant to the post may be deleted to maintain order. Low-effort comments aren't necessarily prohibited but the author may ask for clarification. If you don't clearly explain your comment within 7 days, it will be removed.
4 . There may be some incorrect grammar and spelling for an intended aesthetic effect. That being said, you need the author's permission to be nitpicky about any incorrect grammar and spelling they may have made. You wait for me to give you my permission before you correct me on any possible mistakes.
5 . If you're going to post an anecdote:
- Provide context for how your experience connects to or relates to the post's topic at hand. This helps us all understand the relevance of your contribution.
- Acknowledge the author's experiences before sharing your own. This shows that you've listened and are building upon the existing conversation.
- Feel free to introduce new angles or ideas, as long as they remain respectful and constructive. Tangents that stray too far from the core topic may be gently redirected.
6 . Please respect how a person is addressed, whether by a certain name/nickname, certain pronouns, or even when a person prefers to not be addressed by any names or pronouns. This is not a political or controversial stance but basic respect and courtesy. (Note: there is actually a similar post addressing this matter)
Despite this website being run by one person (me), I am very hyperaware and stringent about these guidelines, and always make sure that every communication you have with me complies with them. However, unlike most, I do not remove your comments without notice, and I will send an email explaining clearly and explicitly why your comment was removed upon deletion. This is to maintain a level of transparency that appears to be becoming very rare these days, as more websites are increasingly taking down people's content and comments without a known reason and without notice, which is very concerning.
I also may not be able to immediately moderate a comment on time, or every single comment. Nevertheless, this page will be updated whenever possible.
Customers: repeated instances of breaking the guidelines will result in being blocked meaning you will no longer be able to access products.
Your continued use of this website constitutes your agreement with this policy and all policies/terms/conditions known on this website.
