Flight to Cochin
Jan. 2nd, 2017 03:32 amWe were up a “O Dark Thirty” to be at the airport for a 7:50 flight from Indira Gandhi Airport. Because of delays in security we hurried to the gate where we were bused to the plane. They had a portable ramp to get from the ground to the door of the airplane, an Indigo Airlines A320.

We got all settled and ready to go when the captain announced that the plane had a problem that could not be fixed and buses had been called. Everyone packed up and descended the ramps and were bused to another plane across the tarmac. We took off about one and a half hours late.

This was a one stop flight and we didn't have to change planes. However, there were some problems at our destination with the runways being closed until 3:00 pm. We were out of the plane and into the bus at 4:30 or so with a hour drive across town to the boat. There was another delay as Indian Security made us screen our bags and hand luggage. So our dreams of being back on the Seabourn Encore by 3 were dashed. The ship was to sail at 6:00 pm but waited for us to get loaded. There were five men checking our passports at the end of the gangway as everyone on ship watched from their verandahs. The ship finally sailed at 7:30 pm. We had dinner and went directly to bed.
