We had done most of the things that we wanted to do in Singapore but there was one last special thing. I wanted to swim in the infinity pool on the top of the hotel. It is a great illusion because it appears that the water is running over the edge and into space. It appears that there is nothing but air below the edge. It makes for great photos.
The building is three 55 story towers with this large flat layer on top that looks like an ironing board that is 340 meters long. The buildings are not in a straight line so the flat space on top is subtly curved. The pool is on the side facing the city with two levels of lounge chairs and a walkway. You get there by taking the elevator to the 57th floor.
They strictly control the access. You cannot get in without being a hotel guest. There are gates with card readers AND security people to make sure there are no gate crashers. But once inside the inner sanctum it is a tropical beach setting with this amazing pool that is higher than most any pool you have visited. You can get drinks and snacks. There are lifeguards and towel boys and girls. There is everything you need for a day at the pool but at 656 feet above ground. In fact, the platform for the 150 meter infinity pool and sky park is 2 ½ acres in size. The hotel claims it is the highest and the largest elevated pool in the world. It is 150m (L) x 8m (W) x 1.2m (depth).
