- There’s a handful of topics in engineering which feel “forgotten” by the newest generation: Control theory, RF eng, analogue circuits, FPGA programming, network engineering, materials science. Handful of others. Lots of alpha in these topics, especially for building intuition.
- Replying to @DrJimFanVery cool stuff, but a couple things: $20/mo is really paying for GPT4 access (and uptime during high use hours); you can already get 3.5 for free. GPT4 API is a lot more expensive than 3.5turbo, probably making this not economically viable, not to mention value of plug-ins etc.
- "You can't build defense tech in a 24 hour period"... Just one of the many remarkable projects built at the event. Designed and manufactured overnight by 3 students+early grads who'd never previously met. - I love being around ML engineers because the job intrinsically requires an optimism that borders on insanity. Tests take hours, days, weeks, not seconds. Intuition is key. There is often no algorithm. I’ve spent months looking at noise until signal miraculously emerged.
