Vitalik already made a place for Spammers. It’s called Ethereum. I don’t think it’s wise to make more places for spammers on or adjacent to Bitcoin. If you know, you Knots. Filters up. ✊🏼🫡

So the thinking is to make a place for spammers to put data (as the prevalent thinking is you can't stop spam 100%), which noderunners can completely reject and doesn't impact their node, but miners can mine to earn some money. And you limit scripts so they can't be used to stuff

A BIP does not cause irreparable harm to Bitcoin. You know what causes irreparable harm to Bitcoin? Unnecessary data. Do not downgrade to Core v.30. Run Knots, Datacarrier = 0 Filters up. ✊🏼🫡

The real attack is Core v.30’s attempt at standardizing 100,000 byte Op_Returns. The real attack was Casey Rodarmor’s exploit of Taproot that facilitated the Inscription Spam Attack back in 2023. The real attack is Spammers trying to weigh Bitcoin down with unnecessary data.
