Gender is a tool of subjugation that needs to be dismantled, not an identity that needs to be affirmed.

Sex difference is only important in a tiny number of instances (private spaces, attraction, sport, etc). Most claimed differences are outdated stereotypes. Feminists fight to keep the important and eliminate the outdated. TRAs fight to destroy the important and keep the outdated.

This should be a career-ending moment for @iamjohnoliver. Years of speaking truth to power blown simply because the side of the political establishment he kowtows to is pushing a deeply misogynistic agenda.

I don't suppose pointing out there's no evidence or validated report that this happened would stop you libelling an nurse who has already had to put up with an institutionally misogynistic employer penalising her for wanting her legal right not to get changed in front of a man?

Yes, I suspect they realise it's a necessary pause on gaslighting children into believing they can be born in the wrong-sexed body and that it's necessary to irreversibly medicalise their healthy bodies instead of dealing with the confusion and anxiety that resides in their mind.

After she branded India Willoughby 'a man', J K Rowling went on to brand her yacht a 'yacht', brand her cigar a 'cigar' and brand her drink a 'drink'.

It reflects a false reality. One can strive not to discriminate against people up until the point where it starts to deny reality. At that point, we have to say, sorry and all that, but women are women and we're not changing the language to accommodate a fringe belief.

Maybe, but I've always considered myself aligned to left/liberal principles. But this belief that some men are women and trashing women as a consequence is like one day discovering all your friends have started worshipping fire. It's reminiscent of living in a 50s sci-fi movie.

Tr🏳️‍⚧️ns: Gender identity is not the same as sex. Me: Then your gender identity shouldn't give you access to spaces that are not designated for your sex. Tr🏳️‍⚧️ns: F@!^ you, bigºt.

In other words: "Men masquerading as women in female changing rooms or bathrooms are not a problem, but men masquerading as men masquerading as women are." Hmm.

JOIN NHS FIFE! Benefits: if you're a man, we will give 100% support to any sexual fantasy you have! Drawback: if you're a woman, we will urinate on your privacy, dignity and personal safety and will vilify, suspend you and attempt to publicly shame you if you complain!

Once again, the exact opposite of the truth. People can express themselves how they wish, but men should stay out of women's spaces. It's only because bad-faith men are invading women's spaces that some women are growing wary. This is an argument to clamp down on bad-faith men.

On journalism courses, I believe they would use this post to illustrate what is known in professional circles as "missing the whole goddam sodding point of the story."

You aren't until you support women whose spaces and sports are being colonised by men. Easy to take a swipe at someone when it's not going to cost you – try sticking up for the women of a certain age who are not allowed to hold meetings without trans activists threatening them.

Yes, it was an odd look for a women's party to put men's rights above the interests of women. The only wonder is that it took so long to come to the realisation. I suppose it's no coincidence that the Women's National Anti-Suffrage League lasted about the same amount of time.
