Never mind the melodrama, we need optimism and action. I'm proud to launch Socialism26 with @NeilForPoole and support across the Labour movement. If you’re Labour, sign up to be part of the call to change the status quo, not just accommodate it. 👉 socialism26 . co . uk

Very impressive victory in Makerfield last night. Andy's message has decisively beaten Farage's divisive politics. The doom and gloom has been lifted at least momentarily. Let's build on this momentum to change Labour so it's back on the side of working people.

Developers will always chase profit. That’s their job. Government’s job is to serve the public interest. That’s why I support banning housing developer donations to politics. Housing policy must be decided on merit, not money. Sign my petition:

I’m campaigning for cheaper rail fares. Privatisation meant higher fares every year while taxpayers paid billions in subsidies. Labour now has a chance to do things differently. Cheaper fares would help millions and show a Labour Government is on the side of working people.

It’s bonkers that rail can be the most expensive way to travel. It's sometimes cheaper to fly via Europe to get up north than take a train. Public ownership must change that and make it cheaper to get to work or see friends. I’ve urged Ministers to back my plan for lower fares

Rail fares are a cost-of-living issue. We have the highest rail fares in Europe. The Railways Bill is coming back to parliament this Wednesday. @@CHinchliffMP's amendment can help cut fares. Take 2 mins now to email your MP to stand up for passengers: vist.ly/56vnp

Housing campaigners representing thousands back my call to ban developer donations. Corporate donors don’t hand out cash lightly, they want results. The housing crisis is too serious to let big money tilt the balance to greed over need. Kick developer cash out of politics.

Labour inherited a housing crisis - we must not inherit the culture of sleaze that helped create it. Developer lobbyists donate to shape politics. They want expensive, low quality homes and bigger profits. Sign my petition to ban developer donations.

Together with almost 140 fellow Labour MPs, I have written to the Foreign Secretary to call for a ban on trade with illegal Israeli settlements. Our group includes every Labour select committee chair. It’s time to be clear that settlements have no viable economic future (1/2)

Our country was built for a climate that no longer exists. Our politics must face up to the trade‑offs ahead. We can’t say yes to data centres when water is running out or keep ultra‑low corporation tax when we need investment. Living standards must come before quick profit.

Access to nature is a class issue. When developers push for lower standards it deepens inequality and it's the poorest who pay. A Labour government shouldn't be making life greyer and less healthy for these communities. Nature belongs to all of us - not just the richest.

We can’t keep piling endless demand onto finite water supplies. Families can't be left without essential water while AI data centres burn through it. Madness. We need long‑term solutions that put living standards first - that means public ownership of water.

Politics must serve the public. That’s why I’m calling to ban housing developer donations - their influence works against public good. I also back Neil’s push to break the link between donors & public contracts. Government must prioritise living standards over vested power.

Giver and taker firms have donated £47m to political parties over 25 years. 💰 These same companies went on to score £60 BILLION in public contracts since 2015. This is everything people hate about politics. Ban firms from getting contracts with Governments they pay to elect.
