    #PlanAhead: Caltrans will perform two, 55-hour full highway closures of SR-4 from Roberts Rd. to the San Joaquin/Contra Costa County line, east of Discovery Bay to make necessary upgrades Weekend closures from 10pm 7/10 to 5am 7/13 & 10pm 7/17 to 5am 7/20. Detour required.

    We ask that you please be courteous to chain control personnel, who are out in the worst of the worst, day after day, doing their part to provide a safe and reliable transportation network for all. Please heed their advice, it could make a difference in getting home safe!

    Caples Lake Maintenance is busy this morning clearing snow off SR-88, which currently is closed from Peddler Hill to the east side of Carson Spur due to snow removal. There is no ETO. For road info., including chain control locations, check Quickmap.dot.ca.gov. #BeSafe

    The moment we’ve waited for has arrived! With a joyous thumbs-up, the gate swung open & SR-89 Monitor Pass is fully open from its seasonal closure! We thank the intrepid crews in District 10 and District 9 who worked safely & swiftly to reopen this important route.

    Maintenance crews hard at work to clear snow from SR-108/Sonora Pass. Some of the avalanche depth across the area were 30 ft deep. Caltrans continuous to evaluate conditions of the passes and will open the gate when it's safe to do so. We appreciate your patience.

    Crews from Districts 9 & 10 meet just west of the Sonora Pass Summit, clearing the snow. Crews are working hard every day but still need to address flooding, falling trees and an incoming storm system before the roadway can opened . We'll keep you posted. @CaltransHQ @Caltrans9

    1 of 2 - Caltrans D10 will open SR-108/Sonora Pass ASAP for the common good of CA and enjoyment of outdoor enthusiasts. Crews have cleared 13+ miles from the Sno-Park since 4/3 with 15 miles to go to the summit. They’re working 7 days/wk, 12 hrs/day, clearing snowpack.

    @CaltransDist10 Caples Lake Maintenance has been working tirelessly to clear snow from SR-88 @ Carson Spur in Alpine County. The ETO now is 6 pm. Weather can effect road conditions without notice. Check Quickmap.dot.ca.gov or call 1-800-427-7623 for road information. #besafe

    Our snowplow & snow blower operators are working around the clock to keep the roads open & safe for motorists. If you’re driving near a snowplow, slow down, drive carefully, give them plenty of room, & don’t pass them! Remember, they are clearing the road for you! #MoveOver

    The fight against the #CaldorFire has been waged on the ground and in the air. This photo shot Aug. 31 shows a 2HT firefighting helicopter taking water from Silver Lake to drop onto the blaze. Caltrans salutes these brave, talented crews and all who are battling the fire.
