Excited to share our review on the use of network models for cross-species translational neuroscience! nature.com/articles/s4158โฆ led by Kate Brynildsen (gif below from @academicmatou)
Letโs set the record straight. Women work together & publish exceptional papers in @NatureNeuro. The papers are undercited due to implicit bias/structural inequality/discrimination. The solution, @NatureComms, is to address the problem, not advise all grad students to work w/ men
The under-attribution of womenโs contributions to science is well known & well studied. A measure of under-attribution is the under-citation of papers authored by women relative to expected rates. In a new @NaturePhysics paper we explore this citation gap in contemporary physics.
New from @jddwor Extent & drivers of gender imbalance in neuroscience reference lists tinyurl.com/yfw26jy2. w/ @Penn_SIVE, @perryzurn, Teich, Linn. Covering issues of bias, ethics, & social behavior vital to all fields grappling with their own visions of an equitable future.
Thrilled & humbled to be named a 2021 American Physical Society Fellow. I am incredibly indebted to the many fantastic mentees, colleagues, & mentors that have made my time in science such an exciting adventure. Thank you all! & Congrats to other fellows!

Just published in @NatRevNeurosci "On the nature and use of models in network neuroscience" goo.gl/PU2PNB w/ P. Zurn and J.I. Gold. We draw on biology, philosophy and other disciplines to establish validation principles for network models.
