- Frances Black is right - there is a legal basis to enact the OTB in Ireland. I struggle to understand how some can still oppose such a move, given the last 10 months of unending violence in Gaza and the West Bank.Ireland is fully entitled to ban trade with illegal Israeli settlements. A new legal opinion, authored by Takis Tridimas and Panos Koutrakos argues that Ireland is able to pass the Occupied Territories Bill through the Oireachtas and into Irish law. irishexaminer.com/news/arid-4146…

- Refaat Alareer was a renowned poet and academic living in Gaza. He was killed by an Israeli airstrike in December. His poem 'If I must die', was shared widely after his death, including this Irish translated version.

I will never back down in speaking truth to power. The apartheid government of Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians. Palestinians will not be erased. Solidarity with all those outside of these walls in the streets protesting and exercising their right to dissent.

Replying to @GraceOSllvnThe cartoonist said that Handala will always be 10 years old and will not grow old or show his face until he returns to a free Palestine. Naji al-Ali was himself 10 years old during the Nakba when he had to flee as a refugee to Lebanon. He was assassinated in 1987. (3/4)

How did this happen? Ireland has the largest fishing waters of all Member States in the European Union, but it has not got a single full member amongst the 27 appointed to the new European Parliament's Committee on Fisheries. Seems astonishing and hard to believe.
