In January I got very sick (flu like illness but much worse), no sleep for 2 days and almost checked myself into the ED. Had no idea what it was. Today I checked my #COVID19 Antibody status......IgG+ Only (sign of past infection). Mixed emotions🙄. Will retest tomorrow.

There should be an AED at every hotel in America. Allow me to rant for a second… I was at an event this evening at the @EmbassySuites when an older man has a syncopal event, became diaphoretic and had snoring respirations. As I evaluated him I asked someone to call 911 and

Diagnosing a child in the ED with new onset Type 1 Diabetes is hard. Diagnosing your own child with it is 1000 times more painful. #tryingtokeepittogether

Doctors cannot accept lunch from a pharmaceutical rep because it may influence their decision. Yet politicians can accept millions in cash from interest groups and that’s legal! Ok that makes sense. #TimeForChange #MSDStrong

Yes I agree. I am putting together a protocol that will affect thousands of front line people. I just did one test and tomorrow am evaluating another test. Will be collecting data and will report.

6 year old Izzy had a post-tonsillectomy bleed at home. She was hypotensive and unresponsive when her Dad called 911. Her Dad happens to be one of our District Chiefs at @PBCFR . When he called 911 he said “Send the whole blood.” Hearing the 911 call, seeing the emotion from

These are available in the US and have been used widely in China. I am trying to get these in from China to test my medics on the front lines. I have no relationship with the manufacturer. Happy to share our results in 3 weeks or so once we’ve collected a good amount of data.

Caring for a family who has lost a child is truly difficult. This paper, a must read, is the first that asks the parents what they would want from HCPs. This table provides an in depth summary. Please DM me for the full paper. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/31206499

Consider this. You need to establish IV access in a patient but have had no luck starting a line. A research team from @SATXFire and @HISCentre published a paper on "Graduated Access for Hypotensive Patients (GAHP)." It's the use of an IO to obtain IV access. Before you get

Why do I love the @NAEMSP conference? I’m holding freeze dried plasma from a single donor in my hand. It’s the weight of a few pieces of paper and can be kept non-refrigerated for months Reconstitute it with 200 mL and it’s ready to be administered. This will be a panacea
