- I know the Hudlicky essay recently published in @angew_chem hurt many. I am resigning from their International Advisory Board effective immediately. Please see the full statement below from me and my colleagues across the chemical sciences.
- After 30 y at @UNC & 25 y at @NCState, I’m excited to announce my transition to @Stanford with appointments in @StanfordMed, @StanfordEng, & @StanfordGSB. Had a good run in NC, grateful for the opportunity, friendships & collaborations, eager to re-start my academic career in CA!
- Today, I follow in the footsteps of founders I admire most. I’ve assumed the Exec Chairman role & handed the reins to @EllenKullman, @Carbon's new President & CEO. Excited to partner w/ Ellen to take Carbon to the next level! #CraftedbyCarbon
- I find it stunning that Google's annual R&D budget totaled $9.8 billion and the Budget for the National Science Foundation was $7.3 billion
- Sad to learn of the passing of Nobel Prize winning chemist, Professor Robert Grubbs at @Caltech. Bob was a giant in many ways. He taught all of us much about polymer chemistry, the beauty in it & the impact it could make. Most importantly, he was a kind & encouraging person. RIP
- And the start of a new chapter begins: my first Group Meeting at @Stanford representing @StanfordRad @StanfordEng, @StanfordGSB & @UNC First course of business: group values! When an organization is clear about its values, it can become a destination for excellence! Come join us!
- Team at @Carbon is scrambling to help out with #coronavirus response. First example is a face shield for PPE. We will be pushing these designs out to our global network & to open sources once finalized. We’ll have a mechanism in place soon to help people get access to these.
- “And yet you try”. This story about my friend Sam Gambhir, who passed away this morning, epitomizes who he was and his legacy. You will be missed. Rest In Peace. case.org/system/files/m…
- Awesome to see @francesarnold today at @Stanford Department of Chemical Engineering! Frances is a massive inspiration to all of us about her science, but she also takes the cake in being a super nice person with a huge dedication to public service! Thank you! #grateful @Caltech
- Liners of helmets today are based on foam tech developed 100 years ago! New, digitally designed lattices, w over 140k struts, dissipate energy as struts deform, distributing impact over a larger area, absorbing energy in ways traditional materials can not. #ProtectItAll @Carbon
- Funny. Just boarded plane and a fellow passenger just pointed out to me “in case you didn’t know, this part of the shoes you are wearing were 3D printed!” I said “sounds like a miracle! But I knew that, because we did that!” That’s a first! @Carbon @adidas #FutureCraft
- It’s now official!! Granddaughter #4 is here!! My daughter @EmDeSimone gave birth Friday morning to Kinsley Sue Kozacek! She’s a peanut at 5lbs 3oz and 18.5 inches! Congrats Trevor! And now that makes two granddaughters this month, for a total of four granddaughters!!
