The deselection of @faizashaheen is unacceptable. To use her tweets accounting personal experiences of Islamophobia as evidence for deselection is utterly outrageous. Telling a Muslim woman she is not allowed to talk about her own experiences of racism is clear Islamophobia.

.@zarahsultana’s treatment on @GMB was utterly unacceptable. She is one of the most high profile Muslim MPs, receiving daily abuse and death threats. To sneer at her as she makes the case for Islamophobia to be explicitly named and tackled is abhorrent.

This is a patently vile, Islamophobic briefing by a 'senior Labour official' to the Daily Mail. This racism needs to be challenged urgently and publicly by the Labour leadership & the party as a whole. There can be no hiding behind the anonymity of the source and briefing.

The allegations of Islamophobia from Faiza Shaheen are very serious. They include being "banned from speaking publicly about her experiences of racism in the party" and being told to "curb the attitude" when raising that Labour was perhaps "not taking the concerns of the Muslim
