This is Stonewall's opportunity to make sure trans voices are heard in the Supreme Court. It will be interesting to see whether they take that opportunity.

Absolutely delighted to be on @BluskyeAllison's team for this, along with the brilliant Ben Cooper KC and @anyabike The appeal could have far-reaching consequences for EDI advice given to employers by external trainers & accreditation schemes supremecourt.uk/cases/uksc-202…

Nope. Single-sex spaces for women must always exclude "trans women" (a subset of men), or they will not be single-sex. It's like peanut-free meals: you have to leave the peanuts out. It's really not that hard.

The Supreme Court ruling correctly interprets the Equality Act, giving effect to our intention when drafting it. Single sex spaces for women are important & can exclude trans women but only where necessary. The Act, & ruling, protects rights of women while also respecting the

There’s an aspect of the FWS case (For Women Scotland v Scottish Ministers) due to be heard later this month in the Supreme Court that is so childishly simple that one worries that the cleverest...

This is astonishing. Trans women are men, @northumbriapol and also my local @sussex_police. My name is Naomi Cunningham, and I’m easy to find if you think speaking this truth is a crime. #TransWomenAreMen.

    1. Yesterday, a lesbian woman was interviewed under caution by @northumbriapol for saying Trans Women are men. They interviewed her despite a warning from Fair Cop to leave her alone. This is the transcript. @SuellaBraverman @SpeechUnion Read it all. It is terrifying.

Good news. Robin Moira White and other men like him are going to have to learn the meaning of the word “no”.

This isn’t going well, is it @GoldsmithsSU? Could it be that people don’t like to see these men celebrated for cheating in women’s sports?

    7. Please remember this, if you decide to interview me. You will need to ask questions like "How often dost thou use X?" "What dost thou mean by "thou/thee" in thy bio?" You may find there is a modest cognitive cost to this, but that's ok with me.

    12. Do I have any lawful excuse for this tweet? I don't need one. I have a right to free expression under article 10 of the ECHR, and since this is political speech, it attracts a particularly high level of protection.

I've just noticed what happened to this post on LinkedIn. Evidently someone agreed with me about the effect of breaking a taboo.

They’re trapped. Here is an obviously manly man (no doubt with a deep manly voice) and even a large drooping moustache. But once you admit that such a man is a man even if he says he’s a woman, the show’s over.

The BBC calls a male neo-Nazi ‘she’, because their absolutist belief in gender identity ideology means any man - rapist, voyeur, terrorist, murderer or paedophile - must be described as a woman the moment he says he’s one. bbc.com/news/articles/…

    9. Do I think this could be offensive? Well, I know there are people who find it offensive. That's ok. I find the expression "trans woman" offensive, but I keep my hair on. People who find the statement "trans women are men" should also keep their hair on.

    8. ctd. But it's not possible for a human being to change sex. Those who call themselves "trans women" remain men, and that is true however much they have modified their bodies to look more like women.

    8. ctd some more. It remains true even if they have obtained a certificate making a counter-factual declaration as to their sex. They are still men, although for some necessarily limited purposes they have the benefit of a legal fiction that they have become women.
