- It may seem shocking to hear stats like 7.5% of US population have #LongCovid, but I bring it up in conversation & will hear… “yeah, I get dizzy randomly while I’m up now” or “My vision has never been the same since” or “I can’t exercise like I did before.” #ThatsLongCovid

- In a recent clinic day, about 8 patients with #LongCovid applied for disability. Guess how many got it?
- When people have had #COVID & then a few months later say, “I’m having some trouble finding my words” or “I’m spent” #ThatsLongCovid There can be a delay in presentation. Inflammatory cytokines were found (even in CSF) months after mild covid. Autoimmunity takes time, too.
- Can people in society who are sick (even if you think it’s not covid) have the courtesy to at least wear a mask in public? Signed, - someone who doesn’t want any virus - wife of someone who has covid - someone who is ready for a lot of mean responses to this hot take.

- One (nonvalidated) screening question I will ask people with #LongCovid is “How many times do you shower/take a bath a week?” It’s very telling on energy levels.
- Was in a meeting where I was asked, “Can I call you Monica?” Which was fine. But then he kept on calling the other physician in the meeting (a man) “Doctor.” I politely call him out & explained gender bias. Language is powerful. Let’s change the landscape.
