- When grandfather’s writing chair developed a hole in the cane weave I thought it was end of story for most carpenters offered a plastic replacement. Last week thanks to my wife’s persistence a man was found who re-caned it beautifully with same pattern also

- At last I found the etymology for Round Tana - in the 1850s, a circular Thana or police station stood on Mount Road. It was later demolished leaving the roundabout behind. Now any roundabout in Chennai is referred to as Round Tana and there are 120 of them! Article soon.

00:00- Obviously @SunTV does not know of streets off Royapettah and RK Salai. Before they report on how things are fast coming to normal they should check these places. Even a nursing home had to be evacuated. The rain was calamitous but the damage was done by a storm water drain.
