    It’s reassuring that the rift created by the illegal term extension btwn the SNA has been resolved peacefully. I thank all parties involved. Again I warn against any further attempt to pit the Somali Army against each other. Somalia’s only enemy is AS & we must unite against them

    I welcome the historic agreement by the @SomaliPM and CPC to re-establish peace and demilitarize Mogadishu. This will pave the way to a consensus based and transparent electoral process. I salute PM @MohamedHRoble’s efforts to restore trust and lead the process in good faith.

    It’s relieving that Ex President @M_Farmaajo has come to his senses and realized that the illegal term extension isn’t only unjustifiable but dangerous. The restoration of 17th Sept accord is a welcome move that leads to inclusive elections if not twisted to cause further delays.

    For the country to head towards peaceful elections, I call on for Ex President @M_Farmaajo to immediately handover (in writing) both the nation’s security and the implementation/security of elections to @SomaliPM. Anything short of that will constitute new uncertainties.

    Ex President @M_Farmaajo has long history of absolute power obsession and creating obstacles to fair elections. More than a decade ago, members of Somali community he led in US “accused him of trying to cling to power by manipulating the electoral process”
