Lawyers for the elderly are sending in outraged emails about @fordnation's new law introduced today to force seniors into #LTC homes not of their choice.
Now we are all reading the actual legislation it is worse than we could imagine.

The Ontario Health Coalition represents more than 500,000 organizations and 750,000 Ontarians dedicated to protecting and improving public health care for all.
- While she was Health Minister, Don Mills Surgical, a private for-profit hospital, got a 278% increase in funding. She didn't run again in the 2022 election, and now Christine Elliott @celliottability has become a lobbyist for Don Mills Surgical. It should be illegal.
- The Harris govt privatized home care. It's been a disaster ever since. They privatized the majority of long-term care then made millions on their boards while causing immeasurable suffering. Now @fordnation is trying to privatize our public hospitals. Unless we stop him.
- Replying to @ConsumerSOS @Jdavis_Halton and 2 othersWe've been collecting info from people who are being charged for routine blood & cancer tests that were covered under OHIP until recently. We also are trying to get to the bottom of it. Patients cannot legally be charged for medically necessary tests under the Canada Health Act.
- Ford's claims today are patently false. We know that private clinics routinely charge for services, upsell unnecessary services & require patients to pay for non-OHIP covered services to get service. We need you to speak up if you have paid for services at a private clinic. 1/2
- 1000s gather to Queen’s Park in opposition of @fordnation ‘s health care privatization scheme. #onpoli
00:00 - Private hospitals are banned in Ont. since 1971. Under the law, those grandfathered in (there are 3 left) are not to be expanded. So why, since @fordnation came in, have they have increased for-profit hospital Don Mills surgical centre's funding by 278%? #onpoli @CBCQueensPark
00:00- Dr. @DFisman this morning in a press conference advocating for the restoration of masking protections in public indoor settings: "This is all about choices and the choices that have been made are unfortunate....">>
- Replying to @OntarioHealthC2/6 ..The media missed it but it is a bombshell announcement. It means, for the first time since the inception of OHIP, an Ontario government would bring in U.S.-style for-profit hospitals. Under Ontario law, new for-profit hospitals are currently banned and have been since 1973.
- We have more than 200,000 votes in now & it is going up by thousands every hour. We have never seen anything like this. It is amazing. Please vote to stop the privatization of our public hospitals. It counts. PublicHospitalVote.ca #onpoli
- Ontario has the fewest hospital beds per person of any province in our country. Why? Because our province chooses to fund our hospitals at the lowest rate in the country. It is a fundamental disconnect when patients are treated as though they are the problem.
- Health Coalitions across Ontario launched a major fightback today: The Coalition is mounting a province-wide referendum to stop the Ford Government’s (@fordnation's) Privatization of Our Public Hospitals. Here's how it is going to work & how everyone can help: 1/10
- The Ford government lied in the lead-in to the election. It can never be acceptable for a political party or government to lie to the public leading into an election about its plans. This is a threat to the fundamentals of our democracy. Vote. Volunteer. publichospitalvote.ca
