    I just witnessed the extraordinary ceremony when, after passing through 5 d/t stages of 8 yrs each & 40 yrs of patience, my father became Aba Gadaa Lemma Gemmechu! I can't describe how proud I am of him & my culture! #Oromo #GadaaDemocracy! 🔴⚫⚪ (Pic 3 with my bros & sisters)

    His Holiness Abune Mathias wasn’t being selective in his condemnation of the cruelty he & millions of us witnessed when an innocent man was tossed into a crackling fire alive, begging for his life & mercy from his captors, as if either his life or mercy was theirs to give.

    Yes! “Denial is the final stage of Genocide!” But deny as much as you want & convince whoever you can, in the end, the women know who is raping them; mothers & fathers know who is killing their children, their families & neighbours. The people know who is doing what to them! 💔

    Today marks a year since the grisly massacre took place in Ethiopia’s Orthodox Church holiest places, #Axum, over a span of 3 days. *Remember it & mourn the innocent victims killed by #HGDF mercenaries from neighbouring #Eritrea, while Ethiopian soldiers looked from the sides.

    Raising awareness on the danger of child soldiers where it’s warranted is a noble cause. The problem with Ethiopia’s campaign is it’s led by the same war mongering political class who sat by for 8 months & watched when the children of Tigray were being killed, raped & maimed…

    On the gruesome murder of Abba Gadaas & respected members of the #Karrayyu #Oromo. As a daughter of an Abba Gadaa I grief with the family & the community Abba Gadaa Kadir & the rest were pillars to. This murder is the epitome of a deliberate denial of leadership to the Oromo💔

    Deeply touched to see that Jawar has decided to honour the #Karayuu Aba Gadaas who were executed by #Oromia police. May justice be served to the grieving Karayuu community & the #Oromo nation who, frankly speaking, hasn’t breathed right since Hachalu Hundessa was assassinated.💔
