When I was kid, if you worked in the public sector you’d never be a millionaire, but you had decent pay, a pension, sick pay & career progression. Outsourcing sacrificed decent jobs for shareholder dividends. It’s time to right that wrong & this a good step towards that.It might surprise you to learn that you can work in a government building where all of your colleagues are civil servants – and be entrusted with keeping the nation safe – but be employed on an insecure private sector contract The outsourcing injustice at the heart of government - Security staff, cleaners and caterers are as much a part of the team as anyone else in government. They should be properly treated as such.

Had a wonderful meeting with PM Keir Starmer in Evian. The last year has been outstanding as far as India-UK relations are concerned. The trade deal has opened many avenues of economic cooperation. Today’s talks focused on how to add even more momentum to India-UK ties.
