Japan achieves low housing costs by having a broadly representative group decide on policy region-wide, instead of just a noisy group of rich and older residents who live nearly and complain about the impact of a new apartment on their street parking.

It's almost as if people deemed oppressed have their own desires, agencies and capabilities and want to transcend the idea that they lack power. Absolute kings, all of them.

It should really be evident you want to live in the period after central banks (post 1913) than before.

This is such a great chart for showing off how good economists have gotten at stabilizing the economy.

The craziest thing about Paul Ehrlich isn't that he some guy in the 1960s provided cover for the involuntary sterilization of millions. (And fantasized about killing many more.) It's that he's still around and still *celebrated* by basically all mainstream institutions.

Roads are incredibly expensive to build. Which is fine, but I like my taxes low and would rather just build this. Can't have low taxes and high level services costar.com/article/899472…

You lost me at “adding less than 15 minutes to each riders travel time.” Can’t these businesses handle a short interruption to save hours from the lives of millions of people?

No one is lying to you. The US has many vacant homes in areas with low job growth (mostly the Midwest and the south). At the same time there’s very few vacant homes in areas with high job growth (coastal cities). Two things can be true at the same time.

How is it legal to call this "strategy consulting" if it's for fashion styling? That seems like fraud.
