    So, we had a 7th grader get caught VAPING WEED IN CLASS today. In the front row. Just a few feet away from the teacher. The parent’s response: “My son didn’t do it.” At some point we’re going to have to stop playing nice & bluntly tell parents “You are the problem - grow up!”

    Could it be that since the baby boomers started retiring a larger %age of the population has aged out of the workforce?? Here’s the labor participation for 25-54 years old. Doesn’t look like working age ppl don’t want to work anymore…

    So today at our district-wide middle school Math dept meeting we were told, without irony, that kids in the high school were failing and dropping out bc they don’t have a solid grasp of middle school math material but also that we were forbidden to review foundational skills 1/

    The high school in my district scheduled an impromptu half day today so that staff can work on a new plan to improve behavior after numerous violent incidents. Apparently 2 admins ended up in the hospital the other day. My suggestion: punish bad/dangerous behavior.

    Was just told by a colleague that our students have been using Google lens to cheat on their online math assignments & star tests. I knew about Mathaway. I knew about photomath but I’ve never even heard of this one. We’re never going to outsmart kids on tech. Bring back📄 & ✏️!

    Musk has been talking about “free speech” in the context of private companies - eg twitter. He has argued that although the law doesn’t require private companies to allow free speech, they should anyway. The examples presented here show that he hasn’t lived up to 1/
