Hi Sandy. I hope you're doing well. However, you are incorrect. @ThatTomHall wrote the story for DOOM long before you joined id in September 1993, nine months into production. Summarizing Tom's story in two sentences does not equal writing the DOOM story. Not by a long shot.
Okay looky here whippersnapper. I WROTE the original Doom backstory. First off, itโ€™s not genocide to blow demons back to Hell. Second, well โ€ฆ I got nothing else. You hit the nail on the head.

According to John Romero, Tom Hall wrote the story for Doom months before this person joined id Software. x.com/romero/status/โ€ฆ

DOOM does not take place in March 2022. DOOM is timeless. Somehow, the manual for the Super Nintendo DOOM had a date in it, but that date did not come from anyone at id.

31 years ago, DOOM launched and changed gaming forever. We're still proud of what we created and grateful for the community that's kept the fire burning. Here's to more demons, more mayhem, and more memories! ๐Ÿ‘น #DOOM31

Final Fantasy 1 was programmed **in its entirety** by an Iranian coder -- the absolute legend, Nasir Gebelli. He used no source and programmed directly into a mini-assembler. Nasir also coded Final Fantasy 2 and 3. He came to the US for college.
