UETCL informs its stakeholders and the general public that we are experiencing a national blackout. We shall keep you updated as we work on restoration of power. - @UmemeLtd @ERA_Uganda @UegclOfficial @nbstv @OfwonoOpondo @ubctvuganda @ntvuganda there is a floating island that is affecting generation at Nalubale and Bujagali and as a result we have a total national blackout. We are working with generation to sort the issues.
- 4 towers on the Owen Falls-Lugogo transmission line have collapsed due to vandalism in Buvunja village. Let us work together to put an end to this vice to avoid interruption of efficient power supply. Please report suspected vandals to your nearest police station
- The Board & Management of UETCL welcomes Mr. Joshua Karamagi the New Incoming CEO who will assume office on 1st March, 2023. Joshua is joining UETCL from Uganda Electricity Generation Company Limited where he has been the Chief Finance Officer since 2015.
- A tower has collapsed on the Namanve South-Mukono North 132kV transmission line due to vandalism. Let us all be vigilant and report suspected vandals to the nearest police station
- Uganda Police has conducted an operation in Kisenyi and surrounding areas where suspected vandals were arrested and tons of transmission tower members were recovered. Let’s work together to put an end to vandalism.
- UETCL is currently operating with only two transmission lines to supply Central and Western Uganda as a result of vandalism of the Bujagali-Kawanda 220kV transmission line which makes the national power grid vulnerable
