Hi:

I see a lot of cool REST apps and i'm trying to host something in the TIE using REST/Axios with VITE.

At the moment i will probably host the application in web applications in Intersytems.

For authorisation and getting the logged in user and password to any app, is there a standard people are doing?

I.e. for axios you might have this from the app

auth: {
        username: apiUser,
        password: apiPass
      }

But surely you want to pass through credentials from the IRIS logged in user, or alternatively pass the credential request to IRIS API to first receive the data.

Hi Community,

Check out this new video that shows how to build the UI for InterSystems FHIR server from scratch using AI with no previous frontend experience:

📺 Building and Deploying React Frontend for the InterSystems FHIR server in 20 minutes with Lovable AI

🗣 Presenter: @Evgeny Shvarov, Senior Manager of Developer and Startup Programs, InterSystems

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a tool that can be used as a base to create an interface that allows a non-technical user to easily forward messages.

The idea is that the user can find an already sent HL7 message and forward it by modifying specific fields of the message without needing any technical knowledge.

An example would be something similar to the Ensemble search engine, but with a less technical and much more intuitive approach and that only allows changing 1 or 2 fields.

Is there a solution in the community or something that I can adapt for this purpose?

Integrating frontend React applications with backend services like IRIS database via REST APIs can be a powerful way to build robust web applications. However, one common hurdle developers often encounter is the Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) issue, which can prevent the frontend from accessing resources on the backend due to security restrictions enforced by web browsers. In this article, we'll explore how to tackle CORS issues when integrating React web apps with IRIS backend services.

Creating the Schema

We start by defining a simple schema named Patients:

Class Prototype.DB.Patients Extends %Persistent [ DdlAllowed ]
{

Property Name As %String;

Property Title As %String;

Property Gender As %String;

Property DOB As %String;

Property Ethnicity As %String;
}

Graphical Display of Tables

Here we will document how you can get the results of your Data Collection to be displayed graphically. The output of your project will look like this:

Note that I am working on a local machine. If you are doing this on a server then be aware to use the correct IP address.

First, we will import the three classes from the that we are going to need (note that we will edit them later):

You can take the xml and import it to your system.

The spec will actually create the dispatch class and implementation template.

Developing a Full-Stack JavaScript web app with Caché requires you to bring together the right building blocks. In the previous part, we created a basic front-end React application. In the second part of this article series I will show how to choose the right back-end technology for your application. You will see Caché allows you to use many different approaches to link your front-end to your Caché server, depending on your application's needs. In this part we will set up a back-end with Node.js/QEWD and CSP/REST. In the next part we will enhance our basic web app and connect it to Caché using these technologies.

Hi guys,

I want to develop a web application in which a user can log in through the user credential of intersystems that is created in Management Portal for a specific role. How can I authenticate the user and get any token or login cookie through which user can call other apis

Let's imagine if you would like to write some real web application, for instance, some simple clone of medium.com. Such sort of application can be written using any different language on the backend side, or with any framework on the frontend side. So many ways to do the same application, and you can look at this project. Which offers a bunch of frontends and backends realizations for exactly the same application. And you can easily mix them, any chosen frontend should work with any backend.

Let me introduce the same application realization for InterSystems IRIS on a backend side.

Developing a Full-Stack JavaScript web app with Caché requires you to bring together the right building blocks. Previously, I outlined the basic steps to install and connect Node.js to Caché and make it's powerful multi-model database capabilites available for use with Node.js. You can use Caché as a NoSQL-, document- (with unique key-level access!), SQL- and object-database with Node.js. When developing JavaScript applications, you'll see how powerful this combination is and makes Caché a perfect fit for Node.js.

In the first part of this article series I will show how to get started with the React framework, one of the most popular frameworks currently taking over front-end development. In the next parts you'll learn how to connect a basic web app to a Caché back-end.

You'll see, it's very easy to get started with this technology - you can even compare the amount of basic knowledge you need to COS because you only need to know a few basic concepts to start!

Hey Intersystems Community,

I have a Problem with the Session Handling in .csp.

I wrote all my Web Services in .csp-Pages and do the work for example in the OnPreHttp Method for to get some data.

After that the Web Service response is in JSON.

I call These Web Services via fetch in my react Single Page application, also Many request parallel. The react App is Rolled out as index.html.
Everything Works Fine with the session Handling via Cookie.

Hi Community,

Enjoy watching the new Global Summit 2019 video on InterSystems Developers YouTube Channel:

⏯ Building Data-Driven Web Apps

The fhir-react project defines a unique component which renders the interface based on FHIR resource type. There's no need for any configuration because the library uses the standard of defined by the resource type.

So, I decided to apply the same idea, but for charts. The basic idea is depicted below:

For instance, some FHIR resources like Observation, Condition etc., has a code. Thus, we can aggregate all codes and count them.

Such aggregation creates a standard data model.

Finally, this model could be adapted for any char library.

In the past, reading information from a bar code was limited to a simple alphanumeric code. The creation of a bar code with more than one dimension (2D), especially the QR Code, allowed to increase the amount and variety of data stored in a bar code. While conventional bar codes are capable of storing a maximum of approximately 20 digits, the QR Code is capable of handling several tens to hundreds of times more information. This revolutionized the markets. Now QR codes are everywhere and can be very useful for storing textual, numeric, alphanumeric and even binary data.

HI,

I am planning to build a WebApp that will have tons of data to display in tables, ability to add comments on that table rows and may be some few more small features as we move on.

1. It has to be Secure

2. It has to be fast

3. It has to be Non CSP / Non Zen

4. Will have Cache DB to pull records from but should be flexible to do that from any odbc resource

5.

Developing a Full-Stack JavaScript web app with Caché requires you to bring together the right building blocks. In this third part of this article series I will show how to link our React app to our three back-ends we created in part 2.

One of the most important features during application development is the ability to debug your code easily. Because of the asynchrnous nature, a standard Node.js application server works single-threaded by default. When you are developing applications using an IDE like Visual Studio Code, you can very easily debug your Node.js process:

First, download the free Visual Studio Code IDE (@code) and install it on your development machine.

We will start with basic debugging using a very small test.

Those of you who keep an eye on developments in the mainstream of IT will be aware that a major upheaval has been occurring over the last 5 or so years, in which JavaScript has exploded in popularity and importance.  Largely as a result of its server-side incarnation - Node.js - it has broken free of just being the scripting language that you use in web browser, to becoming the world's most popular language and enterprise technology of choice.

As soon as I started playing about with Node.

In this article I'll describe how to set up web services and/or REST services using EWD 3.

Since EWD 3 is designed to be modular, you can construct the environment that exactly meets your needs, but for much of the time you'll probably find that the pre-built EWD 3 ewd-xpress super-module does most of what you need because it hooks together all the core EWD 3 and other building-blocks you'll need:

• the Node.js web server that pretty much everyone now uses: Express
• Caché (via the ewd-qoper8-cache module, which, in turn, relies on the cache.
