Fixed!
Question/Problem: A couple weeks ago, my audio and video stopped working. Itune's wont work, I can hit play but then it just stalls and doesn't progress. And videos just freeze over and over and no sound is coming from anything. I got a memory error message one time and showed the pic of it below. Everything is going slower. Please help! Thank you!
Question/Problem: Ok so about three weeks ago I purchased a HP laptop a long with a HP Wireless Mini Mouse. When I got everything up and running the mouse worked just fine but since that day it has stopped working, not completely, the mouse right and left click buttons work as does the scroll button but the cursor does not move. I've tried moving it up and down and sideways but nothing, is there any way to fix this.

When did the problem start? Has it been going on constantly since then? Like I said above I had had the laptop and wireless mouse for a day (when I started using it) then it died on me.
Any steps you've taken to troubleshoot? I've tried changing the surface on which I used the mouse (purchased a mouse pad), changing the battery, re-installing the software, taking out the USB and putting it in another port, testing it on our other computer at home.
the dvd drive on my grandfather's laptop recently stopped being able to burn dvds and has a hard time recognizing them. i looked online and apparently the brand of drive is really crappy (matshita or something). i want to replace the drive with a good brand (sony or pioneer), but it has a weird bezel on it, like an asymmetrical elongated trapezoid or something.
i want to know if it is possible to remove the bezel from the old drive and snap it onto a new optical drive. the computer is an hp dv6000 and the drive is a matshita uj-851 if that is important.
Question/Problem: I used to have a Lenovo R60 that I got through my university, but it was "used irresponsibly" by a roommate and got all sorts of viruses and was never the same. I decided to get a new computer (HP g60) a few days ago after the backlight burnt out. There are a few features that I am missing on this new computer that I found convenient on the Lenovo.
Is there a way to get a "chime" to sound when the AC cord is plugged/unplugged? I.e., when I pull the power dealie out of the jack, or the cat knocks the cable out of the power strip, a little chime sounds to let me know this... and the same for when you plug it back in.
Also, is there a way to get an on-screen display to show the brightness level, volume, etc? When using the keyboard shortcuts on the Lenovo, these little icons would pop up and show the volume or LCD brightness, etc.

Your level of experience (we simplify or explain instructions based on how you answer): Experienced? I'm not a super-geek, but I'm by no means helpless.
Any steps you've taken to troubleshoot? I've tried the Help & Support and Googling, but I can't manage to figure out keywords that lead me to anything other than forum posts telling me to use the sound icon in the taskbar. I'm open to solutions within the system itself or small, free utilities from the web.
Question/Problem: My laptop, when I close the lid, is not hibernating, as it is set up for my performance settings Operating System, Version and Service Pack: Vista Home Premium SP1, 32-bit Web Browser and Version: FF 2 (3 does not work on my system) and Apple Safari for Windows Your level of experience (we simplify or explain instructions based on how you answer): Intermediate When did the problem start? Has it been going on constantly since then? I think it started about 3 or 4 days ago. Any steps you've taken to troubleshoot? I've tried changing the settings on my battery performance settings, and then changing them back. I've attempted to run a defrag, but it didn't finish the 250gig hard drive after 24 hours, so I quit that. If you are receiving an error message, please include the entire text of the message. There is no message. Display goes off, but the light still flashes, signaling that the hard drive is still running/whatever. The power cord and casing still stays hot, even a few hours after closing of the lid.
A friend recently gave me her old computer, an HP that seems to be about 10 years old. I don't have internet at home, so still have to work on the internet from the library. I was hoping to be able to download a few goodies from the library, so bought a flash drive. The computer told me that the "device driver" was not installed, and I looked and searched all over the computer.
I asked around a bit, but it looks like the flash drive I just bought just cannot be handled by a computer that old. So I bought some cheapie data/image/music CDs from Staples. Lol, the version of Adaptec the computer has (2.5) is not able to do anything with the CDs, though it can read from a music CD I put in, and also from the recovery disc ( I looked at the list of original programs for help, but didn't see anything likely).
Before I check out buying some floppy discs to transfer whatever from web to home PC, am I wasting my time even trying to load a wallpaper or text documents from the web? Is there a free download to get, if the floppies work, to update the Adaptec, Windows 98 or whatever?
I am mostly not that computer savvy, never having had one at home before, just using the library or occasionally using a friend's. So speak sloooowly....

Did you ever find a program, I am in the same boat at the moment, although I have managed to intercept the MCL data stream and trying to code for this.
