Motorsport Obsessed. Qualified Engineer. Fierce Fencer. Chess Slave. Bookworm. Photographer of things I like.
This journal rarely has anything deep or profound in it. It's mostly full of motorsport, the trials of a London commuter, pictures I've taken of things that I like and random TV stuff.
I'm currently working at a games shop in London, after successfully completing a BEng and MSc in Automotive and Motorsport Engineering.
I'm a little obsessed with motorsport and my mind does seem to run on that track quite a lot, especially around race weekends although with the departure of Kimi Räikkönen from F1 my interest has become a little lack lustre. I'm a massive fan of Christian Klien and Nelson Piquet Jr but I also have rather large soft spots for Jenson Button, Nicky Hayden, Randy de Puniet Jerome D'Ambrosio, Felipe Massa, Timo Glock, Nick Heidfeld and Luiz Razia. Even though he's not active at the moment, large pieces of me still belong to Patrick Friesacher.
Although my mind spends quite a lot of time filled with the sound of an engine and just what might be going on off the track, I do have other sporting interests as well. Over the years I have turned into a closet Snooker geek, although I used to be the most hypnotised when watching either Paul Hunter or Ronnie O'Sullivan play, it was an utter dream to watch them play each other. Through watching him play (and following his activities off the screen as well) Paul Hunter became a bit of a hero for me, and the news of his death broke my heart. He wasn't only talented but a truly amazing person as well, the world didn't deserve to be robbed of him so quickly.
My other obsessions really highlight me for the geek that I am. I'm a big fan of LOTR, SG-1, The X-Files, Star Trek: Voyager, Dr Who , Bones , Heroes , Jericho and Battlestar Galactica.
After my recent purchase of a Canon G10 I'm attempting to 'get better' at photography, which really just means that I'm taking even more pictures of things that I like. I long to escape from my job and work in engineering, but this is proving to be an upward struggle. I love to read, and will welcome book recommendations from anyone, especially if I can get the book on my Kindle!
