FRODAY?
That's right, Froday as in Friday, only that we started as a Frodo-loving LotR community at Livejournal.
What is this community about?
It's a place to get inspiration to do a little creative something each week.
Drabbles, ficlets, poems, icons, art, podfics, fanmixes, fanvids, meta, rec lists... Whatever you can think of is welcome.
We also love original works. RP work is fine, too.
Monthly schedule:
– 1st Friday: Regular Challenge
– 2nd Friday: Little Special
– 3rd Friday: Regular Challenge
– 4th Friday: Monthly Challenge for the following month
– 5th Friday: Froday Madness Special
– Last Friday: Amnesty
Who can participate?
Anyone who has posting access to DW or AO3. Our LJ community is currently on hiatus, but the challenge schedule at LJ will be updated every Friday. Feel free to participate anonymously at DW or AO3, but please let us know your name in the header of your work.
Can I submit something I created for another site?
You may submit anything created during the challenge running period, regardless of how many (outside) prompts you're filling with it. So, killing two (or more) birds with one stone is fine with us.
How do I post?
When posting fanworks, title your entry something like this: Challenge number, Fandom, and Title.
Please use cuts wisely and make sure to tag your entry appropriately. If a tag is missing, use 'tag needed'.
If you prefer to post to AO3 or any other side, we'd appreciate it if you would leave a header and a link at DW as well to keep the community active, but it's not mandatory.
You may add your old works created for FFFC to the respective AO3 collections at any time. Make sure to post to the correct FFFC AO3 collection.
Is there a minimum or maximum word count/equivalent thereof?
Unless stated otherwise in the challenge, the minimum is
– fanfic/meta: 100 words
– fanart/graphic: 100x100 pixels or doodle
– poetry: 1 haiku (or similar)
If you want to do a podfic, fanvid, pic-spam, rec-list, fanmix, craft or whatever else comes into your mind, please make a wise decision as to what might be an amount of effort equal to the minimums mentioned.
There is no maximum.
How many fills per person and prompt are allowed?
As many as you like :o)
Does my work have to be in English?
Absolutely not. We accept works in all languages. If you post in something other than English, you may want to add that info to the header.
Are there any restrictions regarding the content of my work?
As long as it's in compliance with DW's Terms of Service, and/or AO3's Terms of Service respectively, anything goes. All fandoms, ratings, genres, kinks, tropes, clichés, rpf/rps, crossovers … everything is welcome. We also love original fic.
Can I have a creator/fandom tag
Please use the tag 'tag needed' when posting your work.
Can I fill older prompts
Only during Amnesty Days, which we'll have at the end of every month. If you want to plan ahead, you can find a complete list of challenges, including tags and all relevant links,Google Spreadsheet.
Can I submit a prompt? How? What?
Absolutely. You can submit prompts or any source of inspiration through this Google Form. All submissions will be considered for challenges.
When prompting, please keep it simple. Single words, lyrics, quotes, pictures … anything goes, as long as it isn't fandom-specific.
Where else can I find the FFFC?
Our Livejournal community is on a hiatus at the moment. We also have an AO3 collection.
I have feedback. Do you want it?
You can leave your feedback, good or bad, right here or send a pm to
prisca. We also have a Fandom Sandbox where you can leave feedback, ask questions, and talk about anything fanwork & fandom related.

Date: 2018-06-06 09:41 am (UTC)I'm glad we're helpful. We always said that as long as there's a single soul enjoying the comm, we'll keep it alive, and it was so worth it. Of course, I could've never survived the past year or so without

Date: 2020-12-22 12:02 am (UTC)1) I forgot to post some regular challenges here when they were ongoing but I posted on AO3 at the time. Can I post them here now, or should I just leave it? Another option is that I can backdate the post to when the fics were posted on AO3 if you want. (I've realised that it's handy to have all my challenge posts here for achievements and suchlike, that's why I'm asking.)
2) Can you please change the "fandom: dr. who" to "fandom: doctor who"? It hurts my little whovian heart to see it XD

Date: 2020-12-22 12:10 am (UTC)Of course, we don't want you to suffer that much, I'll will change the tag asap ;)

Date: 2022-04-19 01:31 pm (UTC)ch: fm-s21andch: fms21. The challenge prompt post says to tag with fms21, but it looks like fm-s21 is consistent with what’s been done in the past.no subject
