The internet is worthless these days, except for mindless entertainment (nothing wrong with that, as long as you realize it). I remember when a search engine gave me an answer I knew was a lie, so I told it it was lying. It immediately said the opposite of what it did the first time.

Here's another example. Try to find out what color eyes an actor really has. In this case, I use Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas. Well, every website says something different. Green, blue, hazel -- some even say red and black! They just make up shit. That they both have green eyes seems to be a popular take, but going from how rare green eyes are... I find it hard to believe that, coincidentally, both stars of a series would have green eyes. (I'm not good at being able to tell eye color unless they are very obviously blue or brown).

Height is another hysterical one. PMT is anywhere from 5'7 to 6'6!! Each website says something different. Same for Don. Maybe they just can't do the math conversions? 😁😂🤣 Now, I do know neither of them is especially tall (which I love). I'm willing to believe Wiki.

And have a vid I just found. OMG. I have a head-canon that Sonny immediately drops his pants when Rico starts singing this. I know I want to! 😉 PMT really does have a beautiful voice. The video is a bit dumb too, but it's pretty.

Got an update from Ian. Boo's liver enzymes especially the ggt are high. He's getting a medication brought home.

According to Google:

GGT is also important in nitrogen metabolism and is found within liver cells. High levels indicate bile duct obstruction, liver disease, pancreatitis, Cushing’s and can be caused by high levels of steroids. Low levels indicate starvation and malnutrition.

We can rule out steroids and the sentence about low levels. Vet didn't mention pancreatitis (something Ian and I have experience with Pywhackett nearly died with it and our Joey died in the hospital getting treated for it when a brain tumor was discovered when he had seizures).

The medicine is to rule out infection and we're waiting to hear from the radiologist. He's here with us and we're hoping it's just an infection.

I woke up with a headache and my day got worse from there.

Boo cat, aka Mushi, my fifteen year old cat that I've had for the longest even though Jasper is much older. Had two poops in a row, where he vomited at the same time and the poops had blood in them.

We called the vet as soon as they opened but it was his surgery day, so they scheduled us for noon. We put Boo in the carrier and then about 20 minutes into the 45 minute drive get a text that the surgery is running late so... We have an appointment at 2:30.

So now I'm playing the waiting game. I didn't go with because my headache is getting worse and Mushi will scream the whole damn time.

Trying not to dwell on all the awful things it could be when it's very likely that he just has a bug or had constipation and hurt himself.

He had good numbers in December.

Last week it was warm but now it's cold again but tomorrow it'll be warm.

I know I had other things I wanted to type about but... I am anxious.

Slap Ya Mama Pound cake (This one is delicious)

* 1 pound (4 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
* 2 ½ cups granulated sugar
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 teaspoon almond extract (optional but recommended)
* 8 large eggs
* 3 cups all-purpose flour
* 1 teaspoon baking powder
* ½ teaspoon salt
* 1 cup heavy cream
For the White Glaze
* 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
* 2–3 tablespoons milk or heavy cream
* ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Prep: Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease a 10-inch tube or Bundt pan and lightly dust with flour.
2. Cream: In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until very light and fluffy (5–7 minutes). Mix in vanilla and almond extract.
3. Add eggs: Beat in the eggs one at a time, scraping the bowl as needed.
4. Dry mix: In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
5. Alternate: Add the dry mixture to the butter mixture in 3 additions, alternating with the milk (start and end with dry). Mix just until smooth—do not overmix.
6. Bake: Transfer batter to the pan, smooth the top, and bake 1 hour 20–30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
7. Cool: Let cool in the pan 15–20 minutes, then invert onto a rack.
8. Glaze: Whisk powdered sugar, milk/cream, and vanilla until pourable but not thin. Drizzle over the warm cake and let set 15–20 minutes before slicing.

24. What are you watching this month that you are enjoying?

I'm watching Will Trent and High Potential on Hulu. And the Rookie. Hulu has a lot of series. They also have movies that we watch now and then.

We watched a movie on HBO called Dead of Winter. If it were any slower, it would have been going backwards. Mind you, we watched the entire thing, but I got so cold watching. It was filmed in Minnesota during winter. I'm originally from Iowa, and I left because it was too cold, and I never looked back. Anyhow, back to the movie, it had Emma Thompson in it. As always, she was excellent. I didn't care for the ending, but life is like that.

Is anyone watching Dark Winds? We love it. It only has 8 episodes for this season. That's not enough. Will Trent will have 18 episodes. That's more like it. Does anyone have any Dark Wind icons? I only have this one? I would love one with Joe (Zahn)

14. What challenges have you overcome in the past? How has doing so made your life more vibrant and full?

When I was 28, I stopped drinking completely. I'm an alcoholic, and it was time. I finally stopped for me, my hubby and our children. I've never done anything that hard as stopping. It wasn't all easy as pie. It was hard work, but I'm happy to be where I am in life. Sober and thrilled with life. I'm blessed.

Enough about that. Too heavy for this time at night. Have a good Tuesday.

Still no contract.

I wonder if the HR manager has pushed back against the client group manager...

ETA 2 hours later: Apparently they are renewing me, but they're changing the payroll company they're paying me through, and I'm not sure what's going on with the rate, or how much longer the contract will go for.

We have two new chickens. Babies, 6 weeks old. We're keeping them inside for the moment, in a cage, mostly because the coop we'd put them in needs repair and I won't have proper time until Sunday (but am stealing lunchtimes and after work). We're also trying to get them used to cuddles.

it's like i blink and the year's gone by again. i suppose i should reach out, shouldn't i? happy birthday, big brother. life is going good, and while i haven't... well, became truly independent, i am getting there. i have insurance on my car... i've been walking to stores myself. i guess ill ride the bus by myself soon. scary thoughts... hahaha. but im getting there. im very thankful to have my bf, and i really need to lay off caffeinated beverages.

i hate not working, it makes me actually sewerslidal,,, it's the worst experience. i like having goals, doing manual work -- it's good to feel good. i just need to find work with more meaning! i have a cna course in 3 weeks, and i'll get hired (hopefully!!) as a cna after that.

good news! im working on a mobile port of an otome game that went offline.. and im very happy to say that it's definitely got progress. it looks GOOD for what it is, so far.

my goal is getting it done by the end of the year. and im doing good this semester!

i WILL be able to integrate work and school without being chronic exhausted. i am CAPABLE!

i really oughta hang out more w my homegirl. time w her is cool, time with my brother is cool. life is cool.
