Statement on Tumbler Ridge
We are devastated and saddened by the recent tragedy at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School. Our hearts go out to the families and friends of the students, staff, and to everyone who lives in this tight-knit community. We are also thinking of the thousands of people who work in our K-12 education sector around the province. When a senseless act of violence takes place, it is felt by everyone who works in the system no matter where they live.
Our schools are meant to be safe places for students to grow, learn, and build meaningful relationships. It makes this tragedy even harder to comprehend. Our team at Focused Education Resources is here to support our member districts in any way that we can during this difficult time. We stand with you in your grief, and throughout the long process of healing.

I Am Because We Are is an online learning resource for Grade 6-9 students and their teachers, based on British Columbia curriculum and informed by Ubuntu philosophy and principles. Developed by BC educators, this resource was created as part of a response to a call for a more inclusive and reflective curriculum.
Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Toolkit
This toolkit is a practical, evidence‑informed resource designed to help small and medium‑sized school districts strengthen their Enterprise Risk Management practices. Its purpose is to support districts in building sustainable, scalable risk management approaches aligned with their strategic and operational goals.
MEMBER PIA DIRECTORY
The Member PIA Directory is a searchable listing of PIAs completed by school districts to help support privacy assessment processes and capacity. Members can find information about completed PIAs, along with contact information of staff who can provide the document or answer questions. You are also encouraged to submit your own district's PIA information.
AI Resources
The new Artificial Intelligence Implementation Framework offers a powerful set of planning tools and strategies to support thoughtful, inclusive AI integration across classrooms and systems. The accompanying Literacy Lessons provide engaging, classroom-ready activities that build foundational AI understanding.

Student Artificial Intelligence Lessons
Our Professional Learning Team collaborated with BC teachers to develop a comprehensive set of AI literacy lessons and activities for all grade levels. Lessons are broken out into Primary (K-3), Intermediate (4-7), and Secondary (8-12) age groups, and include classroom-ready materials like PowerPoint templates, videos (EN/FR subtitles), and student activities.
