More fuckery

So LJ has been further unable to understand the way its users use the site. I don't want my LJ linked with Twitter, or with Facebook. Definitely not with Facebook. My Twitter ID is on my profile, and that's as much link as I want.

I don't want people to be able to set, by default, notifications that go out to Facebook and Twitter if they comment on one of my locked entries, or on my fic.

Until I figure out a way around this, or LJ come to their senses, I'm going to be hanging out mostly on Dreamwidth. Would anyone like an invite? I have 11 available.

...also, rec me your favourite fandom comms on DW? I need me a Firefly home here.

I've half a mind to set up a Lambliff comm here - Kradam madness is a good start for that, and it'd be nice to have some kind of home over here, too.

But. Uhg. LJ. No (I suspect it'll start murdering their servers, too. These things tend to). I'm really only still over there because (1)I've got a perm account and (2)most of my fandom and my friends aren't quite transferred, yet.

Do not want crappy facebook (with rl people all over it) connected to LJ.

A Lambliff comm would be awesome - as would a general Adam comm. Or something like glam_kink, maybe.

Anything that drops in automatic links is going to hammer their servers, and so is the volume of people raising their electronic voices to complain about it. The fact that they've also changed the tab index of comments so that the first tab after typing is to share on Facebook and then on Twitter before getting to the post button is just appalling.

I've got a permanent account on LJ. When I got it, it was worth it. Now I'm seriously doubting. I am encouraging people to come over here, though I know some people have ethical objections to DW, too.

REALLY DNW Facebook with people I work with and family connected to online identity and fandom. And yes, I know that I can choose not to notify to FB and Twitter when I post or comment, but there are enough people in common between FB, Twitter and LJ who won't think twice about it and will set auto notify comments to create that link for me, whether I like it or not.

Time for a paid account here and a lot more icons.

house_of_glam. It's not set up at all, but I've tried to make it as open as possible without making it open to Kradam (if only because that seems to make it all a bit factional) and hopefully it'll just be a step on to other people organising more focussed comms. But anyway, it's there.

I absolutely cringe at the idea of any RL people finding out my username. It only has to appear once and it is curtains.

I think I will need to dust down this account. I had a paid account for a year but I let it lapse as nothing was really going on. I will maybe update my reading circle and join a few more comms. I suppose even having DW open in a tab would be a start!

(Hmmm, I have very few icons here. That sucks.)

There are a very, very few RL people who know my username, and that's only because they started out as LJ people, turned into con people and then into real people. I don't want any kind of link between my RL name and my Facebook, because on my fannish journal, my f-list is pretty big and no, I don't trust all of them not to link.

Paid account = more icons. I need to set up paid accounts at DW.
