It's been quiet from us for a while, and I wanted to explain why.

We've spent the last few months upgrading Commune and thinking carefully about where we take it next, so it can do more to support you as you build and launch your projects.

Launchpad is ready 🚀

If you've ever launched something and struggled to get any visibility for it, you'll understand the problem we set out to fix.

Posting a link somewhere often gets you a few hours of attention, and then it's gone. Launchpad is built directly into Commune, so your launch stays connected to your project and shows up front and centre whenever you share an update, right where people are already paying attention.

How ranking works

What sets it apart from other launch platforms is that ranking is earned.

You can support projects using Gold earned through activity on Commune, as well as Diamonds. Support has diminishing returns, so a handful of people can't simply overpower everyone else. Projects with genuine support from the community have the advantage.

This also means that as a solo builder with a limited following, your launch isn't limited to a single upvote from yourself. The time you've spent contributing, supporting other builders, and being part of the community gives you more ability to support your own launch when the time comes.

If you're on a paid plan, you can also have your project automatically relaunched over the weeks ahead, saving you from going through the launch process again each time.

Other improvements

We've made plenty of other improvements across Commune too, including a new homepage, hover cards for people and projects, and a smoother experience across the site.

And there's a lot more coming. Much of what we're building next will be centred directly around your projects and making Commune more useful throughout the process of building them.
