Warm intros are not all favoritism. Warm intros are people vouching for you. This is earned. Some founders spend a decade in an industry, build a track record, and the intros are a side effect of that. That's 10 years of hard work paying off.

In the past 10 years, I went through the spouse visa process of 3 different countries: - US - France - China US was fine, fairly efficient. I remember the lady at the federal building was a bit cold but idc - job done. China was a breeze. Hyper predictable, friendly humans
