{Amor Fati} by Washed Out

First of all, sorry for falling off the face of the earth for a few weeks.  The last two specifically have been rather hectic/crazy/sad...

Good news though...I'm back and just in time to help you spruce up your iPod/playlist for Spring roll-your-windows-down weather. Yay!

I used to download the Urban Outfitters playlists as a resource to find new music but I got so behind {having a big girl/boy job tends to cut into "your" time, haha} that I had to part ways and go a slower/different route.  Parting is such sweet sorrow... However, before I "broke it off," I did discover the sounds of Washed Out - a one man "dream pop" band from Georgia. {Wonder if he knows Honey Boo Boo?}

One song in particular makes my "windows-down" playlist no matter what: "Amor Fati" which Wikipedia defines as...
a Latin phrase loosely translating to 'love of fate' or 'love of one's fate.' It is used to describe an attitude in which one sees everything that happens in one's life, including suffering and loss, as good.
Considering the fact that we are coming out of a season where everything has died, we can see now with our own eyes that the "suffering and loss" has paved a way for new life to "spring" up all around us.  Just a thought...

So, check out Amor Fati with a sound reminiscent of the Breakfast Club's theme song which is, in my book, perfect for a anyone's "windows-down" playlist.

Summer Playlist {Song #11: Moth's Wings}

So, I'm super excited to share Song #11 on my Summer Playlist!  I first fell in love with Passion Pit and their song Sleepyhead when I downloaded a mix of songs from the Urban Outfitters blog.  For all you SYTYCD fans, Phillip Chbeeb and friends choreographed an awesome routine {called The Sleep Sweepers} to that song which you should totally go check out.

I also got to see them with Muse back in late October and it was an awesome show!

You may have heard Passion Pit's song that has made it on my Summer Playlist on SYTYCD recently when five of the top 20 performed an AMAZING contemporary routine choreographed by Travis Wall.  So instead of an official video to Passion Pit's Moth's Wings (which there is none), I will leave you with the video of the performance.  Enjoy!

Double Dose of Good Music

So excited for tonight!  Co-worker and I are going to see Muse and Passion Pit in concert at the Ford Center!!!  Check out there music today on this wonderful Friday (A double portion of Favorite Artist Friday)!!!

So, how did I find these awesome bands?

Muse

Muse: Introduced to them on the Twilight Soundtrack.  They are Stephenie Meyer's “muse” and favorite band so they have been included on all the Twilight Saga Soundtracks thus far.

Passion Pit
Passion Pit: Included in the free music I downloaded from the Urban Outfitters Blog.  Some of the songs are a little out there (in my opinion) but I’ve found some real gems like Half Asleep by School of Seven Bells.

P.S. Check out Sleep Sweepers choreographed by Phillip Chbeeb and crew to Passion Pit’s Sleepyhead (a personal fav of mine).

We're hoping to hit up Cuppies & Joe on our way out for some delicious cupcakes...fingers crossed we get there before they close!  I can already taste the Boom Boom Pow right now...
(Boom Boom Pow~vanilla bean cake w/chocolate buttercream, caramel, and sea salt)

I’ll try and post some pictures of the concerts later….

Enjoy and Happy Friday!
