Okay, so I said I would post some more releases from the end of last year, but actually going back over them, they don't stand up to yesterdays, so I'm no longer going to. However here is an album that we overlooked in the summer from the man like Channel Swimmer. Met this dude at Swn Festival in Cardiff as he was Djing just before me. I kept asking him who the tunes were by and each time they were his own productions (I kind of got the idea after a few and stopped bugging him). I've had a couple of these from him since but here's a quality concise (okay so 26 tracks maybe isn't that concise) introduction to an oft overlooked Welsh producer with a keen ear for a sample.

Future Classic release a sinister video for this beautiful but brooding tune from fellow Sydney dwellers, Seekae.

To further prove their impeccable taste, on October 7th, Future Classic are also releasing an EP from our boys Bodhi. You can preorder the vinyl here.

Chrome Kids Radio Show - September 2013 by Chrome Kids on Mixcloud

Here's the latest instalment of our Chrome Kids Radio Show from Radio Cardiff 98.7fm. For those of you without the patience for a whole show (or for those with commitment issues), here's some of the separate tracks, but we promise it's worth investing an hour of your time... in fact we'll guarantee it, or your money back.

I'm not sure who was behind this mini remix album for Italian composer Ludovico Einaudi, but top marks to them because there are some stunning collaborations. The album came out this week and includes contributions from Starkey, Phaeleh, Steven Siegel and Robert Lippok. You can buy a copy here.

Also, speaking of Phaeleh, he can be found guesting on the new album from our fellow Cardiff lad Lung, which is out now on Hospital off shoot, Med School. You can stream the whole thing below.

Until The Ribbon Breaks will be no stranger to regular readers of the blog in some shape or form, we've seen him in a few incarnations but every metamorphosis brings an even stronger identity. Since 'Pressure' popped up a little while back there have been some great remixes for the likes of Laura Mvula, Tegan & Sara and of course The Weeknd, and now recently there have been a couple of killer refixes for 'Pressure' from Ta-ku and Burns (which features one of our favourite NY rappers of the moment Mr MF Exquire) and now this new tune just popped up a few minutes ago. This has got us excited that maybe an album may follow - we had a sneaky peek at what it might sound like a little while back and have been eagerly waiting since.

If you're real quick you might even snatch those last few tickets. Trust us last year was serious fun with the friendliest crowd ever... and this year the line up is that much better.

Individually, our boys Stagga & Monky are two of the country's finest producers. Together they're insane... literally. Before Monky finally drops his lifelong moniker to become elmono, the pair have released a new 4 track EP of bass heavy, glitched up goodness. In Stagga's words "its a bit mental but does have its more soft and romantic moments."

Well looks like we've got a load of catching up to do in regards to the Bodhi boys, can't keep up with them! So just in case you haven't been keeping an eye, here's a few things they've been up to recently.

First of all is their new single 'Culture / Deliquesce' on Sinden's 'Grizzly' label which dropped this week along with this video for 'Culture'. The video is a collaboration with Chrome Kids resident artiste, Snowskull and the EP itself has been getting some major love from the likes of Skream, FaltyDL, Giles Peterson, Machinedrum and Rob Da Bank (who has booked them for his incredible Bestival festival which we rocked a Chrome Kids set at a couple of years back).

Then of course there's this free download from XLR8R of the Bambanou remix. There's also a wicked Ifan Dafydd remix which you might have caught on our last Radio Show.

Finally there's this mix they cooked up for Mixmag, who gave a glowing review to the EP (big ups to Joe Muggs).

I'm sure there's something we've missed but that should keep you lot busy for now.

He might be the silent partner on the Chrome Kids Radio Show but as well as being a damn fine artist, Snowskull is one of the family's true musical connoisseurs. Here he compiles his Top 10 Tunes for 2012.

We haven't done any 'best of' this year but Kaptin has put together a 'reflection selection' for 2012. Here's what he said about it.

"As I enter the final stages of the roller coaster ride that was 2012 I've left little time to consider a 'best of mix' really, with such a good year for music it might possibly last til 2014 anyway. However whilst in Studio 2 of Radio Cardiff I put together this selection of tunes that owe more to the reflective nature of the year's end. No fancy mixing or tricks just some incredible tunes from 2012 played pretty much in their entirety. Hope you enjoy them as much as I have."

Actually the Tensnake remix of Ritual Union came out in 2011 but we'll let him off this once because it was still a great tune in 2012.

The Welsh Electronic scene has truly coming into it’s own over the past few years. As musical genres overlap and intertwine, particularly after the Bass music scene in general’s mass migration from formulaic Dubstep, so Wales’ tight knit community of producers and DJs become ever closer, more open and undoubtedly stronger. As celebration of this fact we have brought some of the top artists from the scene together for a long Bank Holiday weekend of showcases, secret sets and a whole lot of drinking and dancing.



We have 3 Secret headliners, all well established acts at the top of their game, plus: Modeselektor’s label signings Doc Daneeka and Ben Damage showcase their new live set ahead of their Melt! Festival debut in Berlin; one of the city’s most forward thinking producers, Monky gets set to show why his future blend of bass heavy beats have been getting so much love across the electronic music world; Cardiff 2 Step tearaways Didz & Chico bring a little ‘something new’ to the table; Chrome Kids drop a rare appearance ahead of shows in Glastonbury and Bestival over the summer; experimental circuit benders Zwolf, STD and Mr Healan step out of the Hip-hop shadows into something altogether more interesting; former CRST member Ratcatcher (Rodski) and Owain K hold it down for the current generation of House producers; whilst Juvenile Scum head honchos and Dirty Sanchez DJs Telegram From The Queen, to quote Redman, ‘come to throw a little mud in this mother**ker’ and make sure proceedings don’t get too serious. With many more up and coming DJs and producers, just starting to cement their reputations as ones to watch also on the bill, this is undoubtedly going to be a great marker on where the scene is now and where it’s heading.
